Here’s a thread about my experience with and without the thermal/noise insulating glass.

I had a 2020 for 5 years that did not have noise/thermal isolating glass and recently got a 2025 with isolating glass. On balance I prefer the isolating glass, but for me there is a degradation of cell/data reception in poor coverage areas. I’m in Boston and travel in metro Boston and to New Hampshire and to more rural areas in MA. The reception in Metro Boston is great-no problem there. As I get away from the really strong coverage areas where there is 1 or 2 bars of coverage, the reception drops to nothing - weak coverage areas become dead zones. I set up the hotspot in the car so my phone connects to that and the external antenna provides fine reception for data then but doesn’t help calls (WiFi calling is blocked by the hotspot firewall unless you use WhatsApp or FaceTime calling). But at least google maps works then which for me was more important. I have Verizon but have also tried t-mobile and it didn’t make a difference for me. YMMV. My 2020 had a repeater in the center storage (though I never used it) but my 2025 does not (it is not an option for 2025 in the US).

Interesting. I'm in South Florida w/Verizon and definitely have cell issues. It's most apparent when I try to use Maps or Waze directly on the phone. At times, I have to hold the phone to the hatched areas in the windshield to get the signal through.
Whats even more interesting is I have Xfinity that uses Verizon towers. But havent had any issues yet.

Incredibly helpful. Thank you!
