- Satin Black Taycan Turbo S

Hi all! I’ve had my new (to me) J1.1 Taycan Turbo S for a little over a week now, and finally stopped long enough to take a couple of shots.
Low mileage Turbo S in Jet Black Metallic, Topaz Satin PPF paint/Gloss PPF Carbon, full GTechniq ceramic prep, carbon mirrors, Gloss Black Mission E’s and updated Turbonite badging, dropping the “Taycan” rear badge for the cleaner looking “turbo S” and a massive spec list including every black or carbon option that was available.
Coming directly from a Tesla Model 3 Performance and running both simultaneously the Taycan is superior in almost every way - especially looks, driving characteristics, handling, road presence, prestige, build quality and just overall wow factor.
Straight line performance initially felt a little underwhelming (as in not as night and day as I expected vs the M3P), but I quickly realised that it is indeed a much quicker straight line car it’s just so well refined and quiet that it belies the actual speed you’re doing.
I still feel like the M3P “reacts” quicker initially when moving (say 50-60ish), probably due to the weight, but the Turbo S just builds and builds the speed whilst the M3P tails off quickly.
I know the Electric Sport Sound is marmite, but I’ve actually really grown to love it (sorry!), it just feels more emotive and engaging than the silence and I feel more involved in the drive.
Software, charging, updates and range is better in the Tesla no question, but that’s not what I bought it for
I know it’s cliche but photos don’t do the satin finish justice. It’s more muted metallic than satin, and when the sun hits it you still get some of the metallic flake show through the film.
If there are any other owners, car groups, meets, photographers etc in the Yorkshire area then DM me - would love to hang out with some likeminded folk.
Finally a huge thank you to CT14 for helping me with the service report - it was so amazing to see everything that had been done in detail and gave me real confidence when buying and negotiating with the dealer.
