Hey everyone, first post on this forum here, i got my 22 taycan base around 3-4 weeks ago as a cpo from porsche west houston, my first ever EV, love the car, everything about it is amazing, slightly slower than me 20 x4m that i had previously but i needed something more efficient and smoother as the suspension on those M cars is sometimes unbearbale, especially with these houston roads.

Anyways, around a week into ownership of the taycan, i noticed it was taking longer and longer for the AC to cool the car down, it got to the point where it was taking about 15-20 full minuets of driving for the AC to get cold, the ac was no where like this on the first couple days of ownership, over the weeks it got worse and worse to where it never got cold, only slightly cool, after that it went to it would blow hot air and then cold air and switch back every 30 ish seconds. Now it only blows hot air, no cool air at all.

Every since ive had those AC problems, ive also had a couple of window problems with the passenger side windows, they dont roll up unless you use the switch on that exact door, i can open the passenger window from the driver side switch but if i want to close it i have to reach over to the passenger switch and close it, and it doesnt happen every single time I drive the car but it still happens about 4/10 drives I make. Ive also encountered a couple headlight module control error that have popped up on the dashboard. Bit annoying to have all of these problem 4 weeks into ownership of my first ever EV. I love the car a lot, im sure my next car will just be a higher trim taycan, but i will consider ownership if these problem persist or are concurrent in most of the taycans made.

I brought to car to them a week ago and they booked me for a appointment that was yesterday so i have already dropped the car off, hoping to not be without the car for too long. They gave me a macan as a loaner and man these 2 cars are just so far apart. The macan is just very sluggish to me, they said theyll give me a taycan loaner when they get it back so im hoping itll be soon!

I too bought mine from Porsche west back in '22. Mine had the same windows problem you described except it occurred on all not just the passenger side, and after bringing it back to them 5 times or so, they replaced the motors and it resolved the problem. It took them so many tries because as you noticed it can't be replicated once I brought it to them, so it was a trial and error situation.

Your AC probably just needs more refrigerant. You should be able to do that yourself for about $40.00. Any auto parts store sells the filler cans. You can access the refrigerant filler line from the frunk by removing the plastic cover up by the windshield that also gives you access to the small 12 volt battery. I've done this myself on my other vehicles and its very easy. I also have a 2022 CPO I've had about 9 months, I got a couple of those headlight warnings on the dash but they went away in a few minutes and never came back.

You should get AC checked. One thing I love about Taycans is the AC is so much cooler and so much quicker to reach to the interior temperature set.

I had windows problems on all windows on '22 Taycan, it works well most of the time, but acted funny sometimes. I have not experienced any issue on '25.

While that does suck for a new ownership. Consider yourself lucky as it could be allot worse with this car.

I have a '20 Taycan 4S and I had a/c problems with the fans last year. Had them replaced even though I was slightly out of original warranty and Porsche made good on it even though they didn't have to. I think there was a design flaw (fans were rusting out and freezing when the fans should be turning on) on the earlier models -- don't know if it extended to the '22s. Others in the forum have experienced this problem as well. Might want to check it out bc replacing the fans (there are two of them) is very expensive and you shouldn't have to bear the cost of a mistake Porsche made.

As for windows, I too have had problems with the windows working. For some reason on my model sometimes it's as basic as maybe the door not being closed the right way. When my windows don't work, I simply have to open the front driver's side door and close it more firmly and that seems to fix the problem. I probably should take it into the dealer but since the solution is so simple, I haven't bothered. Anyway, something to think about.

I would definitely get the extended warranty if you haven't already. It's worth it as repairs can be expensive. Glad you like your model. I love mine!

Wow, I thought I was the only one with window problems. Mine is slow, but only sometimes. Some time the one touch won't work and I would have to hold the switch. Speaking of which, the switch does not have a good tactile feel. It feels mushy. Kind of hard to explain. I brought it to the dealership, but they said that it was normal.

the whole window-design problem on the Taycan was asking for trouble from the beginning: a no-frame window where the glass has to move to open and close the door. I really wish that Porsche had just made framed doors; I'm not a fan of frameless doors anyway, as my windows on all four doors have constant fingerprint smudges from the driver and all passengers, as it's natural to grab a doors frame in the upper/outer portion of the door to open and close the door -- but here all you have to grab is glass. Stupid design, along with the non-normal exterior door handles (which has pinched the fingers of me and my passengers, and which can be finicky in their receding and pushing out). Normal doors, Porsche, please!

Little update

dropped the car off at Sugar Land Porsche as its much much closer, they should be looking at it today and i should get a diagnosis by tommor (at least thats what my service advisor said), they replaced my loaner and switched me to a 25' Taycan 4, and man, this car is a night and day difference, from the macan, and my current rwd, 340 mile range was amazing for when i went up to college station for the football game this weekend! Only problems is a couple of extremely personal preference things but other than that, this 4 is amazing!

Second, this is exactly why you buy a CPO car. Window issues, AC issues, whatever else - all covered under warranty. My '22 was not CPO, so I'll have to consider an extended warranty before the mfgr warranty expires.

Don't fret about possible service issues. Porsche makes good cars. The '20 Taycans had some known issues with cooling, but those were corrected. The '21/'22 and newer cars are generally solid, and in line with other Porsches from an issue/repair perspective. Porsche West, Porsche North, and Porsche River Oaks are all excellent dealerships with good reputations and good support teams.

Enjoy!

exactly why i bought the CPO! i was told porsche VERY RARELY wont put a CPO on a car, and if it doesnt have CPO and its only like 3 years old with 30k miles, something is VERY VERY wrong with it!

Brought mine to the dealership last week. They couldn't reproduce it. So no fix.

AC will be failing front fans. Get them replaced under warranty.
