Got my heart on a Taycan GT, really don’t want to spend much more that £120k. Any thoughts on how long before cars fall into budget. Was hoping to get one before the summer!

There's not many around and some are around £180K before a chat. You may get lucky but be wary of when you want to sell on again - if Turbo S prices are anything to go by it will drop like a lump of lead. As you'll have no doubt seen the depreciation seems to be around £30K / year (u-n-b-e-l-i-e-v-a-b-l-e) on lesser Taycans given the odd pricing and incentives going on.

I also see that new Macan EVs are being offered with an additional £3K on your trade-in.

I've seen one for 140k on auto trader, might even still be there. I reckon another 12m before the are in the 110 - 120 area.

There is a white one on Autotrader which would suit me spec wise, car is being sold for a customer so after dealers cut I’m guessing they would end up with £130k if it’s sold for asking price. I’m happy to wait for cars to fall into the £120k area. Hopefully won’t have to wait too long!

Currently zero for sale in the UK. I know a couple of people that have them & they both love them and won’t be selling theirs. I have one also and coming from a Turbo the GT is ‘next level’ the active ride is unbelievable! It’s beats EVERYTHING including the SF90! I may sell mine at some point as I have too many cars! My dealer said there are no plans to make another GT Taycan replacement and allocations are extremely limited.

Did buy one in the end but has the 18 way seats and I wanted the buckets. I’ll keep my eyes open for one with buckets, might be a long wait!

I believe they are working on a Taycan GT4 RS or whatever the name ends up being. Whilst not a direct replacement, its in the same ball park. Be interesting to see what Porsche does with it's EVs given the recent, dare I say, "pivot" to a new EV strategy.

Everyone wants a GT so it's unlikely it'll depreciate like normal "cheap" models (like RWD and 4S).
I'm afraid you'll have to wait longer and you'll have to be lucky to get one as they are very rare.
Why not buy a gen 2 Turbo S and tune it to 1050 hp?
That's a easy win/win imho.
Why a GT?

It won’t have the same active ride set up, launch control, aero and styling. The GT definitely feels special. The GT is definitely louder too ;)

Isn't there a GT RS in testing?

Congratulations

Did you end up getting a fair price? Can you post a picture of your car?

In the US, used Turbo GT and Weissachs are about 15% off which is invoice + the $7500 tax

Will post some photos! Brought used in end and the car had about 10k miles at 6 months old so someone had some enjoyment before I brought it. Paid just over £125k GBP so about 45% off list. Hopefully that’s the bulk of its early depreciation out of the way so I won’t loose too much when I sell.

Turbo S sedan is pretty much identical from active ride side.

When you compare tuned vs tuned car, then the Turbo GT is not any faster until 50mph or so.
This is because while the Turbo GT has 25% more torque, it also has a 28% longer final drive.

The only point of the Turbo GT is the higher top speed and if you want better acceleration at higher speeds over 50mph.

Realistically 100-200km/h there's only 0.3 seconds between them, and 0-100 there is 0.1s or less difference with a tune, it's mostly traction limited anyway.

So the only question then apart from the top speed is the styling and to check a box. Unless you get the Weissach, which is a different animal.
