Video certainly feels like rage bait and I am... baited. Calling EVs glorified appliances ('like driving a dishwasher') means about as much as claiming that ICE vehicles are glorified lawnmowers. I don't get it. It also, you know, discounts the rapid advancements in technology that will make many of the current issues with EVs obsolete in 5-10 years, including battery weight, charging speeds, temperature management, etc. Things are advancing rapidly.

For a lot of us the Taycan represents the best of all compromises, that only the incredibly wealthy get to avoid altogether. I dreamed of a 930 911 when I was a kid, after my dad gifted me a guards red/cinnamon brown die-cast model of one for Christmas when I was 10. It's not remotely practical or financially reasonable for me to buy a 930 911. Most 911s are not financially practical or reasonable purchases for most people - to get in a 'cheap' one will cost you far more in maintenance and repairs, and to get in a new one will cost you a fortune.

Finding my gently used, low mileage 2022 4S well optioned in cherry red metallic with truffle interior, with a comparably much lower cost of ownership, that I have little concern (mechanical, financial, etc) of driving daily and driving hard, for a fraction of the price of any new Porsche, was incredibly exciting. The more I drive it the more I can't believe I lucked into it. Thanks to the original owner that specd it from Porsche - it's a hell of a car. It meets my needs and scratches a long-held itch that I am a decade+ away, if ever, from satisfying with any 911 I'd be interested in driving daily.

Elitist media like this that discounts the 'dream' Porsche touts so highly is obnoxious, as if that 'dream' can only be fulfilled by a GT3RS on a track 4,000 miles away - to say nothing of the obvious, well-known environmental cost of ICE vehicles. I have to believe many Taycan drivers are at least sensitive to the realities of anthropogenic climate change - to say nothing of the detriments of oil extraction, land clearance, etc - and I consider my switch to fully electric vehicles (wife is driving a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq now, we both love it) to be another relatively small thing we could do that has an impact.
