Hey all,

I got this email from my local Porsche.

"You have been selected by Porsche Centre Nottingham to receive a brand new upgrade on your current Porsche."

My instinct tells me they will waste my time. Has anyone ever attended one of these?

Thanks.

I got one too.

Have mailed...said if it's 70k to change to a similar car just newer, that's not special.

If it's 10k, I'll pop over tomorrow.

Noted they should write down what "special" means to avoid wasting people's time.

My guess is I won't hear back.

Even if it was 0% intrest, I would be very happy to change to a new spec.

Let us know if you hear back.

I received an email from Porsche Retail Group a few days ago.

Title: Are you ready to sell?

Main point: Due to strong demand we are currently looking to increase our stock of Porsche Approved Pre-Owned vehicles. We currently have requirements for Taycan models similar to yours.

Funnily enough, they're also keen to discuss a part-ex!

The 911 (992.1) builds are even older!

Though we did recently get an "Finder" update that does nothing obvious.

I got the dynamic finder 2023 update too. No idea what it is, mind.

It’s just the same old same old dealer sales tactics to churn sales from existing owners. There are no “deals” to be had. In the old days 40+ years ago when I worked in sales for a dealership they would give us a list of existing customers to “cold call” to see if we can get any of them interested to do a trade. The dealer gave you a script that went something like this… “Hello Mr/Mrs/Miss so & so, We are reaching out to you to see if you have any interest in trading in your “xx year model vehicle” which is in demand by our customers looking for high quality preowned xyz models. Would you like to make an appointment to come down do we can take a look at your car, give you an attractive offer in trade so you can pickup your next dream car?
Of course this was all just sales bullshit. There were no deals to be had. It was a waist of time for ever owner unless you
happened to catch someone ready to trade in the car in the near future.
If you are able to get any current owners to make an appointment then you have better than a 50/50 chance you can convince them to trade-in their perfectly good vehicle for a new one with a terrible trade-in value depending on how good a salesman you are.
I can’t tell you how easy it was to convert someone who agrees to make an appointment into selling them a new car. Like catching fish in a barrel.
Don’t take the bait unless you’re ready to buy a new car or a new CPO…

The other trick I’ve seen is they give you a very nice loaner. I’ve got friends that have gone in for a service and ended up buying a new car :/ Lambo did it to me a couple of times, but when I didn’t bite they stopped :(

Yes, take what you can get. These days they know everything about your buying habits. They use algorithms to select the people which are the easiest to sell something to based on their previous shopping behaviors.
Certain demographics are their primary targets.
