It's important to understand that CPO or not, purchasing an Extended Warranty becomes more expensive and more complicated once the car's factory warranty has ended. In the USA, the factory warranty is not the same as the additional warranty provided by the terms of CPO. Many folks are confused and annoyed by this - dealerships and 3rd party extended warranty sellers often will decline to sell to owners whose car's factory warranty has ended. When they will engage, it becomes necessary to have an inspection done, along the same lines as the inspection that qualifies a car as certified pre-owned. The owner pays for that, and the quoted cost for the extended warranty tends to be higher.how long before your current cpo runs out should you wait before buying extended? i believe mine is until next year sometime (need to check)
Bottom line: If you are thinking about an Extended Warranty, get it sorted before your Factory Warranty concludes.
