TIL that there’s a button on the steering wheel that I can use to switch to auto-regen! Been clicking on the PCM while turning sport sound on every time. Is there a way to always have it set to auto so I don’t have to choose it?
My 2025 regen state is saved to whatever I set it to last. J1.2 also had that steering wheel button changed to song skip so it probably works differently in the J1.1.

J1.1 recuperation in Range, Normal and Sport modes is off (manual incorrectly says Sport is on), with Sport Plus and Individual it's on, but those two start in non auto recuperation.

One of the best features in Taycan. Very well implemented too. I use it as a safety feature on highways. It helps a lot with sudden slowdowns when you are not paying enough attention. Also my car does not even have the ACC radar hardware and it works surprisingly well just using the front camera.

Unfortunately auto recuperation (Porsche's words, not mine) doesn't brake to a stop like ACC does.
It does have Warn and Braking Assist (WBA) standard, and that kicks in if you're going to hit something when going over 40 mph, which probably wouldn't be the case at the point auto recuperation braking stops working.
