Starting this week, I can’t get wireless CarPlay to connect anymore. My car will connect on Bluetooth for songs, but not phone calls.

I tried forgetting the car in the phone settings and re-pairing, which it lets me do. But still no car play.

Video showing all the steps/buttons I try. It worked flawlessly to this point.

Thoughts?

I shortened the video so it fits, but basically I keep hitting all those buttons over and over and it does respond (spinning wheel thinking) after multiple pushes, but nothing happens and it won’t connect.

WiFi and BT are turned on in the phone. I also deleted all CarPlay connections in the phone and reconnected the Taycan.

This setting? If so it’s on

Plugging in it connects after saying “iPhone is now available as a media source” and hitting CarPlay on the car.

And you two finger reset your PCM? Might try toggling off and on the hotspot and also make sure you can see it in the wireless list on your phone (make sure your phone isn't automatically connecting to the hotspot).

I see the car in the wifi settings on my phone.

I did get it to connect once with some of your advice- after plugging it in, unplugging it, then hit CarPlay and it connected wirelessly.

Restart the car……. Won’t connect again.

One odd thing is the icon on the right of the screen next to LTE has a phone with a line through it.

Even if I connect to Bluetooth the phone with a line through it doesn’t go away. If I hit the phone button on the left, the line goes away but still no CarPlay.

Ok, thanks for troubleshooting with me! 2 finger reset (push 2 fingers near clock in top right and hold, then reboot to normal mode) seems to have worked!

It made me enable WiFi again after reboot but now it’s connecting right away.

THANKS AGAIN!

If you haven’t checked already, on the Devices app, make sure your phone is set to connect via CarPlay and not Bluetooth.

Is that setting somewhere different than what I am doing in the video in the first post?

I kinda hate how a lot of the settings in this car are picture icons and no descriptions. Seems like the lazy way to program a car for multiple countries/languages.

Bleh, I spoke too soon.

This morning it’s right back to not connecting, even when I hit the CarPlay button. It’s just defaulting to connecting to Bluetooth.

You seem to be doing the right thing. Maybe delete your device and try reloading it?

Go to WiFi settings on your iPhone , click edit on the top right.
Remove the Taycan wifi. Then:
Remove Taycan from Bluetooth.
Remove the Taycan from the CarPlay option.

Now pair the phone to Taycan Bluetooth. Then hit the CarPlay button on the Taycan .for CarPlay pairing

Try resetting your phone.
Resetting the phone worked once tonight. Two finger swipe worked once yesterday (then it went back to not connecting).

We shall see if this combo of resetting both sticks. 🤷‍♂️

I hope I don’t have to stand on one foot and sing Mary had a little lamb each time to try to connect.

Side note, about every other time I drive, Sirius XM won’t connect from the favorites menu and I have to click the XM shortcut and hit this disclaimer:

Hopefully unrelated, since the CarPlay issue is just this week and the above has been happening for 2 months.

I’m honestly used to bugs, had a 21 Mach E for 4 years and the first year was a different bug every week. But I want to figure out the quirks and workarounds/fixes for this car for sure.
