Have my CPO 4S for the chassis error and the tech noted during the inspection that there were some long scratches in the battery cover. What could’ve caused this? And is this something I need to worry about in the future? Dealer said he just wanted to note it, not replace it.

I should note that I don’t think this was me, but have no way to prove it was there before because the CPO pictures show everything but the undercarriage.

There’s no need to worry; it’s just a scratch. I’m certain others here have similar scratches, perhaps even worse ones.

The story about the 3mm dent was exaggerated. It was a single incident, not a structural issue affecting other owners.

It was an insurance matter, and the owner was unhappy with the outcome and got involved in the conversation between the dealer and insurer. As a result, communication has been strained since then.

Dealers usually record a video of the undercarriage as part of their inspection before selling a car. In the worst case scenario, you could request that video.
Porsche of Austin said that they accessed the CPO pictures and no pictures of the undercarriage were taken. I’ll ask about the video.
