What about Carbon fiber mirrors?
Carbon fiber mirrors wouldn't look right?
The carbon fiber is just for the top shell, that's already body color. And it wouldn't look good at all.

The bits that are plastic (unless you pay for them to be painted) are the bottom shell and the pieces of trim over the "foot" of the mirror.

You can either have all that in body color or you can have the bits on the foot in gloss black.

As I said, it's really no big deal to do it after the fact, the door cards and the mirror come out super easy on these, it probably won't even cost significantly more than just speccing it from the factory.

The infotainment is significantly faster than the pre-facelift. Everything you press is instant.

Also, when I installed YouTube and logged in the my 2FA on the phone said "Android" about the device trying to log in.

There is a different part number for the PCM from 16.06.2025.
9J1 035 041 C

I wonder if it's actually different hardware underneath compared to the earlier ones...
What is not different is the RSE, same laggy mess, but at least it's safely mounted to the car.
Could be many ways to run an android app, it's Linux underneath. Translation layer, emulation or virtualization.

But it could for sure be different hardware also... but then why not use what's in Macan and Cayenne ev, the android PCM, if you are running android anyway? They're stll running same ECUs in the macan, so wouldn't be a compatibility issue.

At this point, with so many versions of PCM out there, maybe porsche's strategy is to spend a few bilions on new software and hardware stack for each new car /s

It just reacts so much faster to everything - instant, I mean it.
Even YouTube loads super fast. There is a big app store with quite a lot of apps including a web browser.

The browser is Vivaldi Browser and that only runs on Windows, iOS, Android & Android Automotive.
So at least the whole app layer is Android underneath on my car, and it would not surprise me if the entire thing is.

I have not driven a MY26 before, but I've driven plenty MY25, and I don't remember it being that snappy.

You can also go after market carbon - from china, and have them full carbon.
Or you can wrap them for cheap in body color full.

It's still version 4578?
If it's an android based system, the kernel version would differ and mention it's android.

More than likely it's just an emulated/run through translation layer app store.
It's been a while since i've been in a 2026, but in the app store you should have a setting button and in there software/platform notice info, which should give some extra details.

That being said, on the german forum there are people with MY25 running 4360 with an app store and youtube, and people with MY25 running 4360 without an app store and youtube app 😅 So anyone's guess.

As for mechanical parts, from short test drive 50km most stuff seems to be okay. Also no rattles of any kind.

However, driving at a fixed speed ~60km/h in a straight line I have something weird going on in the rear, feels like driving over a ton of micro bumps and the rear bouncing ever so slightly.

Could be something stupid like one of the rear wheels being off balance, especially because changing between normal and sport plus does not make any difference.

Also the non-Porsche TPMS are working just fine (same manufacturer anyway), cost me 24 EUR each.

Isn't the post linking to the door still in ugly textured plastic then ?
You just take off the door card, and you take the mirror off, and you get everything completely off.
After that you can either sand + paint whatever you like or it might even be cheaper (when you have a big discount with dealer) to just buy the primed parts and have them painted.

But really this is not a big job, it's for sure less than 1.5k to do it after the fact. Depending on which way you go.

Okay, so the rear suspension wobble is just the tyres from being stored upright. Need to put them on the side in storage.
Took the rears off and had them on a Hunter Elite Tyre bench, which measures the rim and tyre balance separately, and both have a higher spot on the tyre in one place.
But it's already much better and barely noticeable.

Car going for PPF tomorrow.

Apart from that had some "Auto regen not available" fault for a moment. Probably front camera, the weather is disaster here. Hasn't really been above -10C in a month and the roads are full of salt/snow mush.

I have some rattles - one is the infamous driver window rattle, and there's another one somewhere on the other side of the car, maybe the passenger window. Luckily these are easy to reproduce by just playing special bass tracks with the right frequency.

Not sure if I should let the dealer fix them or just do it myself, since the time taken is ~similar and the door cards are super easy to take off on the Taycan.

Finally, the pre-facelift does look so much better. I hate the crease on top of the fender and the front-end is very generic looking. But at least the color is nice and they didn't fuck up the rear :)

From a technical standpoint though:
1. The HD Matrix lights are amazing.
2. Active Ride is amazing - go over speed bumps at almost twice the speed as before while feeling less than before. Never mind that I can drive the car slammed down and entry and exit is easy because it just raises it up to the highest level in a second.
3. Soft close is super nice on this car, used nonstop. The doors never want to close all the way unless you slam them, especially on a new car with the seals all being fresh.
4. Battery even at 8-9C has enough performance to light up the tyres at any point (that was hopeless on pre-FL).
5. I got ~320km range in -15C with regen off. Yeah, that's tons better. Regen is on now.
6. Steel brakes are SO much nicer than the carbon ceramics. The PCCB were always a disaster where you never knew what you're going to get feel wise at the next moment. The steel ones are perfectly progressive and repeatable every single time.
7. The comfort seats are SO much better in every day use. Getting in and out doesn't feel like an ordeal and they are just more comfy.
8. RWS is much more aggressive tuned, you can feel the rear end doing things all the time. Need to get used to it. I can see why people say it's unsettling at higher speeds. Right now I have sometimes difficulty telling whether the rear end is about to go or if it's RWD doing it's thing.

So - visually a clear downgrade (apart from the paint color!) but everything else is way better.

You think more the aggressive RWS is to create more rotation for better track performance? Even for the CT?

No idea, but it's definitely a different calibration. Especially at mid-speeds like 40-50km/h you couldn't really tell RWS was there on the pre-facelift, but now I feel it all the time.

Yes, this.
So now
1) analyze the reaction to assertive turn in at 100 km/h. Normal mode vs Sport/+. It tightens the curve to the point it feels like it is going to oversteer on you.
2) pick a more gentle 80km/h constant radius curve, with some gentle bumps, and feel the tail wiggle as bumps jerk RWS while your steering angle input is constant.
