Local area drive. Several stops. Online radio worked during first two drive segments. Restarted car, no online radio.
--Selecting any online radio station: "Function not available".
--Global symbol for online radio service at top of media screen: grayed out.
--Touched global symbol for online radio: "To use this service, please register at MyPorsche."
--In list of Porsche Connect services in settings: Radio Plus - Contract valid - Inactive.
--Touched Radio Plus selection: "Your data package is not configured. Please check at MyPorsche."
Edited:
--Apple Music, Apple Podcast, and Spotify - Inactive & contract valid.
End edit
--All other Porsche Connect services are Active with contract valid.
--MyPorsche shows Porsche Connect service is active. Subscription expires Dec. 2026.

Online radio/Porsche Connect is a repeated, unreliable fail.

The hope in this forum for OTA software updates from a company that can't provide reliable radio is a pipe dream.

Per conversation with "digital team" at PCNA customer service:
--My Porsche Connect service subscription is paid and active.
--Troubleshooting steps for this problem of no online radio (LTE is active). If not resolved after one step, proceed to next step:
1. Soft reset of PCM
2. Log off MyPorsche ID from PCM and log back in.
3. Delete MyPorsche ID from PCM. Re-add the MyPorsche ID to PCM.
Note: deleting account will delete radio favorites.
4. Factory reset of PCM.
If problem not resolved by preceding steps, digital team will forward the case for investigation.

Did you ask whether they for Porsche service so note down all the settings, then re-enter them after the factory reset of PCM?

As a side note, perhaps they should just credit users for every day it's not working, until it starts working or they send someone to your house to perform the reset and restore of all settings. My Spotify now has the exact same problem, I'd be fine with free Porsche Connect without Spotify until they fix it.

I've had outages of online radio, weather, news, and navigation search for charging stations and POIs before. I've documented them in other threads.
But, the 'please register at MyPorsche' and 'please check at MyPorsche' error messages are new.

If this outage is like the past ones, service will be restored in a couple of days on its own, without me doing anything to the car.

Porsche Connect service is just a continuing fail.

@Tooney did your data package ever start working again? Did you go through the steps? I have this issue starting on the same day as you the 19th in the afternoon. I was picking up the car after it had been down for 3 months for a battery repair. I opened a ticket on Friday the day after and the car was still at the workshop so they scanned the car and reset the com box and took some pics and sent them to PCNA. Tuesday I was E-mailed that a back-end issue was identified and it was resolved, but my online services are still down. It's just the services that require the included 3mbs data package provided with Porsche Connect; Apple Music and Podcasts, Radio Plus (online radio) and Spotify. Same symptoms you describe to a T. These services were working fine earlier in the week when they lit the car back up after the repair. Lot tech had been listening to my Depeche Mode online radio station almost the entire week.

Thursday I had parked for a short time and then it took forever to boot. I was logged out and profile greyed. Had to login as guest. Then without my intervention a couple min. later it auto signed me in. After that car would tell me auto-lift was not available and to reduce seed, EVERY, time I would reach 20mph. I let it sit while I ate lunch and that issue resolved on its own. Odd as it did it even with smart-lift turned off. It was lifting as needed during this. I was ready to delete my saved locations or factory reset but know better to let it sit for a while before taking drastic measures. Anyhow I was hopeful Porsche has rebooted the car (they very well ma have) and that services would be restored but they were not.

After reading several others had this issue on the same day and within the last week. I was thinking this was linked to software updates. Mine received several right before I attempted to pick it up. Someone else on Reddit also had this issue right after being in for the airbag/seat cushion update. Did you just recently have updates performed? So far I have counted 3 of us that got the initial message on the 19th and one that I am not sure of that just recently reported.

@Chalky Thanks for your post. My online radio service is still not working. Situation is still "Radio Plus - Contract valid - Inactive".

I did soft reset of PCM/ engineering mode on/off.
I logged my PCM account off and back on.
I enabled privacy mode and disabled it.

None of those worked. I will try deleting my PCM account ID off and re-add it. I'm not optimistic that will do anything.

I will not reset to factory settings.

I don't know if there were any OTA updates of media or anything else.

I believe this is a back-end problem. Don't know any reason that just online radio would not work and all* other connect services work. (*Note I think apple music and spotify were also inactive, but since I don't use those services I did not pay attention to them.)

Past online radio outages eventually restored on their own after 2 to 4 days. (Those outages did not have "not registered" error messages.) If that does not happen by Monday, I will call Porsche customer service again to get investigation started.

Let me know what you find out.

One reason I post when this happens is that I am fairly certain my Taycan is not the only car affected.

@Tooney ya you have done the same troubleshooting I have done. I haven't removed my account yet. I try to avoid that as it causes some problems like when you factory reset.

I asked about updates at the workshop. Should have been more clear. A couple of us experienced this right after updates were performed there but I think is is coincidence. I think I have only had a MAP OTA update since I got the car back and that was after this problem started.

I'm pretty sure if you check Privacy and Porsche Connect settings you will find your; Apple Music and Podcasts and Spotify also in contract valid but inactive mode and greyed out.

I'm glad you post about these things. I've lurked your postings before to find out if it's my car or more wide spread a couple times. Usually I ignore it. Only time I've been without services long term was when I lost LTE completely last Fall. I didn't want to wait for an appt at the workshop so I did the fuse pull on my own and that fixed it up. It was probably down less than a day. Before that I would just have brief intermittent outages usually after the car had set for a while or when I visited a part of town near me that has spotty coverage. The odd thing is for a long time every Friday I would have issues with LTE and connected services. However I would visit the bank and my favorite Mexican restaurant that are both in spotty areas. Usually if it was going to bork out it would be on Friday. I've also had a couple times when taking my long Tuesday drive and it would freak out on the way down. Sometimes I stop back at the workshop for a free hand wash and it always acts right when I am there. I've been in those same areas not on a Friday and not had issues. Makes me wonder if they have a weekly maintenance that Messes things up.

Anyhow I'm unhappy for you that the problem persists but happy to know it isn't just me. I live with a daily fear of this car having issues. If it wasn't so damn fun to own and drive I'd give it up. Fortunately is not my only ride

FYI, I got bit with this exact issue tonight. Data was working fine last drive about a week ago. Turned it on tonight and “data package not configured”. Did multiple PCM restarts, logged out and back in, all multiple times, to no avail. Nice to know it isn‘t just me. And yes, I bet in a week or so they all just start working in. Frustrating!

TLDR; all my Porsche Connect associated audio source subscriptions services are still out.

I got a message a couple of days ago, something like "Your data package has been configured", after which not only is Spotify gone (it went away few days before then) but now all source other than CarPlay and XM are greyed out. Porsche screwed the pooch on this one, and I bet they don't even know it yet. I am a busy person, so haven't had time to call them during business hours, but seriously, the company is going to die. They really need to get out of the business they know nothing about, specifically online subscription business. So for example something like Spotify, just install a damned app in the car (like on the phone), don't tie it to any Porsche subscription or any Porsche service (other than maybe the cellular connection of the car). They are giving away a decade of free Porsche Connect with new cars nowadays anyways, so why on Earth make their own life difficult by tying serviced to Porsche services developers which couldn't code themselves out of a paper bag if their life depended on it?

I've deleted my Porsche ID previously (2021) from the PCM for an entirely different issue to no ill effect.

Most settings were saved - comfort etc.

No different to selling the car and removing your ID prior to handover.

Just make sure you have good connectivity when performing the reset.

The ill effect is that it takes time to perform, and most likely will not fix anything. Porsche should pay for it being done, like any other warranty repair, maybe then the bean counters would decide it’s worth paying for better software.

Update: Online radio still not working after 11 days. Stopped working Feb. 19.

In addition to online radio outage, Apple Music, Apple Podcast, and Spotify services are also not working - listed as "contract valid" and "inactive" on Porsche Connect services menu. I edited original post.

PCM soft reset, account logout/login, and account delete/re-add did nothing. Deleting account loses radio favorites.

Thanks for taking one for the team. You also reminded me of what I lost last time I deleted my profile from the car. Only thing left is a factory reset which none of us are going to, unless forced to do so.

5 mins tops when all said and done.

If it were me I'd give it a shot if only for curiosity.'s sake.

The alternative is to try the secondary Porsche ID if not tried already.
