1. The battery monitor software from porsche could catch the issue before the car dies completely?
2. Do you think all of the J1.1 cars eventually will need some battery repair? i am starting to believe that a change to the J.1.2 is a wise move...

Thanks for the replies.

I assume it’s because I have someone blocked or messages keep getting deleted, but to me the whole thread looks like prj talking to nobody 🤣

if it’s someone that I have blocked, safe to assume it’s a troll

if it’s someone actively deleting his comments, safe to assume he is trolling

Maybe someone has blocked you?
Btw, how do you block someone anyway?
I know you can ignore someone but what about blocking?

I don't want to get in the middle of this"argument" but here is an example of what happened with my car. I used Chris' app and my battery looked fine. Shortly after the software update with the new battery monitoring code, I got a yellow warning. That led to module replacement. I have no idea what percentage of cars need battery modules replaced, nor do I care.

I'm not aware of any other functionality. I used "ignore" for a couple of users on this forum and it works really well for me. I basically never see their posts anymore but I know they are posting based on other users comments about them. It's a much better forum experience for me without having to read their garbage posts.

Curious if anyone with a j1.1 that has all the updates and has had modules replaced has done a charging curve test.

There are reports on the german forum that post the updates & module replacement, the charging curve is gimped quite a bit. Haven't really been paying attention to mine, as almost none of the public chargers i use have a charging curve report.

It can also happen that the car "dies" directly. If a cell gets shorted then that's what will happen.
There does not have to be any warning period.

That's precisely what I am talking about. Most defects are not a gradual degradation but rather a sudden failure. Fine one moment, damaged the next.

Hence why the number on the tool is so low. It only shows certain types of failures, but people seem to think that if there's no issue detected that the battery is perfect while that may absolutely not be the case.

And that is why we have 18% reports on forum of cars having work done. The older the cars get the higher the number, not surprised if by the time the cars reach 8 years old a third will have cell or battery pack replacement.
