My dealer, who has been with Porsche for decades, just told me that they’re discontinuing the Taycan Turbo GT and that no existing or future allocations are or will be available.

Is anyone else hearing the same thing?

The backdrop here is that I’m looking to upgrade from my 2023 Taycan GTS, which is a terrific car, but exhibits two demerits that collectively frustrate me. The first is that it lacks sufficient top-end power to pull hard at highway / motorway speeds. It’s strong, to be sure, but not quick enough to thrill beyond 60 mph. That hard kick below 40 mph is long gone by the time you’re at speed. Second, it irritates me how quickly the battery percentage ticks down when out on the open road. In short, I’m looking for substantially more power and a meaningful increment in range.

With the news above, this puts me in the market for a new Turbo S, which does have some advantages over the GT in terms of my desired options (not all of which can be spec’d on the Turbo GT) and aesthetics (for my eyes, at least).

Still, if anyone has heard differently about the Turbo GT, please weigh in. Thank you!

Turbo GT wasn't going to be a volume run. I heard around 500 units, which its been close to that. Only a few more Turbo GT have been trickling in for 2026

The price for 2027 would be astronomical anyway. With options, it would be around $265k or more with the incoming price increases.

You're better off upgrading your car becasue it will really pull over 60mph all the way to the top speed. It completely changes the car. Or you can opt for a Turbo S which will be closer to $250k with options.

The benefit of the Turbo GT would be going over 160mph, cool aero, CF spoiler. Turbo S would give you more of the luxry amenities.

Interesting. There are only 7 Turbo GTs (1.of which is a CPO) for sale in the country.

It's too bad you cannot customize a new car anymore. I do not love most of how the current 7 are built.

If true, sounds like there was only a 1 year window to customize.

You can still customize on the site.

I estimate around 20 Turbo GT for MY 2026 for US/World cars. The Weissach that hasn't arived yet is the 15th car Turbo GT to the US

Interesting, so for this year, if you find the right dealer you still have an opportunity to put a customized allocation in?

Not sure about that. Porsche has to approve an allocation unit, so maybe thats why OPs dealer is saying there are no allocations.

For MY2025, some dealers were given an allocation for Turbo GT or Weissach, but others had to special order, then Porsche would assign them an allocation.
I ordered a Turbo GT in October 2024, got the allocation in Feb 2025, switched it to a Weissach in March 2025 after that was approved.

Turbo S and GT have been special orders from Porsche

This is consistent with what my dealer told me. There are no changeable allocations for a Turbo S or GT in the entire US right now, but he said that if I put in an order demand for a TS, Porsche would probably give him one (it’s a large dealership). He said the GTs are done - no further allocations, even though the configurator is still live.

I counted approximately 485 Turbo GT for entire world for 2025. These 15 for 2026 could be the last them to equal the 500 unit run, if my calculations were correct.

The last 3 digits of the VIN are the production number. There are American/World VINs and EU VINs.
They go in sequence so US cars for 2025 ended at around 275, EU cars 485, totally 485 units for MY2025.
For MY 2026 the incoming Black Wiessach to Porsche Irvine is 015. Seems to be the last one

Yep, sounds like Porsche logic, deny sales to customers who are actually willing to pay, then sit there confused why the sales are dropping. But hey, Porsche doesn't need sales to prove that their brand that is stronger than ever (at least according to Porsche CEO).

I remember inquiring about a Macan EV Turbo allocation after test driving one, was also told there was none at the time (nor on the horizon). I wasn't super seriously interested, but even if I was, I would have probably moved onto a different car if I was facing the same 20 month wait I had to endure to get my current Taycan Turbo CT (the wait would have been even longer had I not cold called nearly every dealer in the US to find an allocation). And before anyone tells me how this Porsche keeps the depreciation down by exclusivity, lookup the trade-in value of a 2023 Taycan Turbo CT today (the trim I had to wait 20 months for) - there were only 256 made for that model year for the US.

You know we can fix that for $2.5k right?
Can't help you with the range, but an extra 200hp should alleviate that issue.

Unless you're already tuned in that case you want a facelift car.
