I did it..went over to the dark side. Even though I love electric cars (and my 2nd car is also electric): I sold my Taycan (god bless Carvana) and ordered an ICE.
I had complained in this forum about difficulty getting my Taycan serviced (long delays due to lack of EV techs). I had also been concerned that, when my factory warranty ends in a little while, I would have to buy expensive extensions or take the gamble that VERY expensive service might be needed.
Those concerns finally forced me to do the “unthinkable” and sell the Taycan (and buy the ICE).
I’ve had it with the many software upgrades, parts failures, service delays, battery health declines .. ..just the feeling that I was living in a constant BETA process and waiting for the REALLY expensive “other shoe” to drop.
Ironically, my other EV (a much less expensive KIA EV6) has the advantage of a 10 year warranty (15 years on a critical electric part (ICCU)..so things are more bearable for the EV6.
I love Porsches and have owned a number of them (including, way back, a 356!))..but this one took me over the edge. Farewell my lovely: special ordered, lovely cherry red metallic, so sexy..farewell
