I love the Weissach package and even my car friends don't get it…
Nor do I, at least on the Taycan

A 5100-lb sedan that sacrifices rear seats to save 100 lbs is nuts, IMO.

I respect its performance, but even if I had the means, I wouldn’t buy it.

By contrast, the Lucid Air Sapphire sacrifices no practicality to achieve its identical or better performance.

All that said, enjoy it @Vic55 - it’s a great looking car!

Appreciate and yes the Sapphire is there and traps faster in a straight line. But there are no Sapphire deals but there are Taycan Turbo GT Weissach ones :) I am a semi waster of money LOL as indicated by what Ive had and will have but I just dont see paying 246k for this car or that for a Sapphire. (which I did NOT or this post would not exist)

I'm sure you'll enjoy owning/driving it!

I ran into auto journalist Jonny Lieberman at Newcomb's Ranch / GVBC last year when he had a Taycan Turbo GT Weissach for evaluation. It was cool talking with him about the car and watching it do its "suspension quick lift" trick when a door is opened. To say that it was quick heading up Angeles Crest Hwy would be a ridiculous understatement. o_O Jonny was still catching his breath after the experience when I spoke with him... ;-)

As someone that wanted a Sapphire before a Weissach there are a few reasons I chose the Taycan.
Sapphire has better straight line speed, but it's a different philosophy.
Sapphire is almost 400lbs heavier, $265k (with comparable track pack), doesn't have air suspension,PAR, RAS, you need a $25k deposit just to test drive it, the SPAC company is on the verge of bankruptcy.

I specced mine and didn't get a deal. There isn't a coupe with this performance so a 4 door 2 seater is fine.
Not having rear seats gives you all of the sounds from the motor, transmission, suspension, the carbon fiber cap is an art piece.

The Weissach is tuned differently than any other Taycan, even the Non Wiessach Turbo GT.

Also every Plaid owner I know removes their back seats when they are going for performance stats.

To Jonnys point, It's definitely home on The Crest

You and I are cut from the same cloth; we like the more raw driving experience. Of course in the context for 1000hp ev cars that weigh almost or at 5000 lbs LOL. I guess the ZR1X is option down the road too after the ADM's die out.

Yes this was the one at Riverside --- 54 miles when I bought it.

I was going to lower it last Saturday but after my tech watched me drive in and out in Sports Plus (the only mode I use) he said it sits really low when rolling and doesnt think I should risk damage to the front and underbody. It does sit in park about 15mm taller than I like but I am ok with it. I might still do it but then I have to be more careful than ever.

I do have other lowered cars but they dont sit this low nor do they adjust when rolling to a further low stance.

The car makes no sense at all…other than to be a rolling test bed for tech/features that could possibly incorporated into a usable form factor. Good on Porsche for finding buyers that essentially help fund their development projects this way but they essentially created a car that isn’t very usable on the road or for real track work….and priced it at the top of the range.

Not to yuck anyone’s yum on this one….I can appreciate the fact that it’s fast.

I think you would be the first. I love sport plus also, but keep all the settings except the ride height which I set to lower. That is the height the car defaults to at highway speeds. So low is just for show or pics.
