I had similar thoughts when I bought my first EV and then drove my previously “fast” tuned Audi one last time before I sold it - no comparison.

The EV simply murdered the Audi in every way except sound and looks!

Same here, I used to think my tuned 750i drove 'sporty' for such a big heavy car with a long wheelbase. Now it feels like an 80's Cadillac in comparison and I dont even have PAR.

The sound keeps me coming back (RS6 and others) but this damn Taycan is too good. So much better than my departed Plaid and I actually was pretty happy with that car.

Not a bad looking car IMHO but just numb and a truly a battery on wheels- granted alot of power.

Nice, I still have my Plaid. For the money the car is a steal, but as you said the steering and handling and braking are all below the Taycan.

I got mine about 2 weeks after the first release back in 2021 and paid 138k. Then they dropped the shite out of it pricing wise to where my same build was 94k (I think about a year later). That was the money play and then they brought the pricing back up but never to that original msrp that to me was fine when I got it until it wasnt :)

That 95k for the paint and 21's was the deal for sure.

Took out my C8Z06 for a few days and ran it around the same twisters and straights that my GT had been on... Who would have ever said that 670 hp is NOT that much :)

The steering on the C8 is relatively good but there is some electronic over correction that creates too much resistance. The mag ride is great but its still a bit of a teeth chatter set up on damaged pavement. The car is very raw with the flat plane crank roaring and it serves a unique purpose for me: aural pleasure. It does really rip though but one has to be an 8/10ths driver or more to get there.

So why post this here? Because the Taycan is so formidable and is really lacking that one aspect; sound. Of course its not happening but the the chassis, steering, and the PAR over all is just a show stopper for me. Why cant this be on more cars!!!

Quick thoughts:

Speed: Taycan
Launch: Taycan
Sound: Z06
Chassis: Taycan
Steering: Taycan but close
Handling: toss up due to weight and the Z being around 1400 lbs lighter but the amazement continues with how the Taycan displaces that weight so well.
Interior: tie- shocker but the C8 has made some leaps and bounds- maybe slight nod to the Taycan but the C8 has a front camera and keyless entry/exit. Neither have back seats LOLOOLLOL
Looks: oh hell- tie - subjective here for sure

I couldnt live without either right now so I wont. :)

My Z is modded with a full Kline system.

Great write up

Does the artificial sound from the Taycan give you any emotional connection? Or is it pointless?
What about what you hear from the rear without back seats?

It's hear, feel, touch that creates this emotions.
I believe the combination of engine/exhaust sound, engine vibration, then shifting

I have to agree about the sound. I knew I was going to miss it, but I didn't really appreciate how important the engine note was in making me feel connected to the car. The exhaust note tells you so much about what the car is doing (and yes, it tells everyone else in hearing distance as well) that removing it completely really leaves an important part of the driving experience absent. Anyone been to an EV race? Not 'hearing' what the cars are doing, (other than tire squeal) must reduce the experience significantly. Eliminating one very important sensory input from the car is really much more significant than I thought. (And the electronic noise is just silly IMO). My car is really incredible - best car I've ever had. But frequently I think how much better it would be if it had an exhaust note that measured up to it's performance...
