Great write up

Does the artificial sound from the Taycan give you any emotional connection? Or is it pointless?
What about what you hear from the rear without back seats?

It's hear, feel, touch that creates this emotions.
I believe the combination of engine/exhaust sound, engine vibration, then shifting
So I generally turn off the sound when I drive but there are times Ive forgotten but still dont hear it because I have my music on (not blaring but decent). So the sound doesnt give me any visceral love.

What does? The gear shift and ever so slight delay in Attack Mode; I get some of that transmission shift I enjoy in my DCT and ZF8 cars I have.

The back of the car has not been noticeable sound wise but then again, I have a rear engine C8Z with an exhaust since its an HTC, I lower the rear back window get all or most of the pleasure even with the top still up.

Took out my C8Z06 for a few days and ran it around the same twisters and straights that my GT had been on... Who would have ever said that 670 hp is NOT that much :)

The steering on the C8 is relatively good but there is some electronic over correction that creates too much resistance. The mag ride is great but its still a bit of a teeth chatter set up on damaged pavement. The car is very raw with the flat plane crank roaring and it serves a unique purpose for me: aural pleasure. It does really rip though but one has to be an 8/10ths driver or more to get there.

So why post this here? Because the Taycan is so formidable and is really lacking that one aspect; sound. Of course its not happening but the the chassis, steering, and the PAR over all is just a show stopper for me. Why cant this be on more cars!!!

Quick thoughts:

Speed: Taycan
Launch: Taycan
Sound: Z06
Chassis: Taycan
Steering: Taycan but close
Handling: toss up due to weight and the Z being around 1400 lbs lighter but the amazement continues with how the Taycan displaces that weight so well.
Interior: tie- shocker but the C8 has made some leaps and bounds- maybe slight nod to the Taycan but the C8 has a front camera and keyless entry/exit. Neither have back seats LOLOOLLOL
Looks: oh hell- tie - subjective here for sure

I couldnt live without either right now so I wont. :)

My Z is modded with a full Kline system.

Nice comparison, I think though if you compared the GT vs the Zr1x, things might go differently for you :)

Agreee 1000% in most regards:

The sound will be the challenge as a buddy who owns the ZR1 (non X but same makeup) sounds slightly muted vs my C8Z. Its loud but just not the same.

For some of us, lack of sound is a major feature, not a bug.
Respect for that too --- Im a petrolhead from day 1 and since this is only my 2nd EV - Im still a sound lover. But, and this is a huge but; the Taycan has me smiling deeply. Im glad I can enjoy both.

I always have told myself if I have to choose a car based on whats better: looks or driving dynamics, Id choose the latter.

Damn this is the true mutually beneficial machine:

I think its on the "lower" height here

Your car looks great in that shot, try the lowest setting in the menu, it does drop the car further. Maybe the gap won't be too bad in that setting.

I normally have it in "Low" or whatever the lowest is but for some reason it was not set up in that pic.
I have this pic too which shows it lower but in portrait mode which got funky

It's only available on the Turbo GT. It's the lightweight, Forged wheels.
It's the only wheel available for the Turbo GT with Weissach. On the Non Wiessach, you can chose other wheels as an option.

They should be around $4,000 a wheel if you want to order from Porsche.

The Manthey, even lighter wheels (increased milling) are $25k for the set, Trefeo RS tires included.

Yeah, but they're a different color. I like the gold. I think gold might look good on my neptune blue? I dont think I'd like black.

Neodyme and Satin black are the color options for these wheels and even the Manthey wheels for an additional $1350.

There are other Porsche wheels that you can get in Neodyme (gold) that will more cost effective.

And it looks really good with Neptune!!

My buddies GTS on Neptune with a similar color to Neodyme

How much do you think our wheels weight F and R? Not Manthey
