Interesting how apparently the illuminated grill is apparently there for one and only one reason - performance. LOL

Maybe it’ll look ok in white or Black?

That face though…. I don’t know who they hire to design most EVs….. but they always seem to lean into some really odd looks and shapes.

The Taycan is definitely an exception. Looks fantastic and you don’t know it’s an EV just by looking at it.

I think they went too subtle on the badging.

How will people know what kind of car I’m driving with the logo only on the headlights, taillights, hood, trunk, and grille? They need to put it on the doors too and possibly have it projected onto the road in front of and behind me while I drive!
Still not sure if people know it's a Mercedes...

Updated image with logo projected onto the road in front too... so that the driver knows what brand the car is...

I had to stop watching that video halfway through. Edited by somebody with ADHD I assume, no time to focus on something. (I might be getting old)

Anyway, car looks nice in white, no clue why they went with yellow to show the car ... probably decided by the same people who approved that video LOL.

The rear is a bit "special", but not in a good way, would have to see it in person.
I really hope those illuminated front grills is something that will go away soon.
Interior doesn't scream 150K to me, those huge bezels around the screens, damn, haven't seen them that big since ipad 1.

The sound and vibration, ha, really something I might like to turn on every now and then :)

I find it terrible how brands feel the need to plaster their logos on every corner and every detail just to remind everyone who made the product.
A Mercedes used to be a beautiful, elegant car — take the 190SL, for example. One single star, proudly and tastefully placed in the center. That was real understatement.
But now? Just awful.
The same goes for BMW — design culture seems to be gone. From one model to the next, they keep changing the kidney grille as if they’ve lost any clear identity, constantly redesigning it in a restless search for something. It’s a shame.
Like a football team who gets a new quarterback each year. That’s the first sign of institutional instability 😆

I don’t know if I’m in a small minority but one of the things I like about EV’s is the silence or relative silence. It makes my commuting very peaceful and I’ll just listen to the Burmaster or whatever I’m playing through the speakers.

this is purely subjective, of course, but I look at this thing and I just think 25 year-old BMW, kind of guy and that’s not really the essence of a GT four-door. This is so track focused on the interior AMG four doors are supposed to be elegant power grand tour type of cars not this BMW fanboy stuffed animal Mercedes

I also don’t understand the driver screens being curved towards them. Does the passenger see the ugly back of the middle screen?

Seven years of battery energy density improvements + super light pancake motors and the car weighs 10% more than a Taycan. Doesn't feel like progress to me.

Mercedes spent a lot of time finding what current EV enthusiast had, ICE enthusiast would want and why the EQ flopped.

The sound vibration, shifting were focal points in development, inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5N.
The elements that made ICE more engaging were the vibrations that that the 5N was missing.

Mercedes put a lot of effort into screens because of Tesla. The CLA EV is one in particular with more cellphone experience aimed at the Tesla buyer.

I think they hit all of those targets and specifically avoided the "One BowEQ design

I admire Mercedes for trying and not giving my up on EVs with a very high likelihood of failure

and the engine noise booming from the speakers doesn’t sound like “vroom, vroooom...”, but is a soft whisper: “... mercedes – mercedes – mercedes – ...”
