You guys are exagerating a bit... the grill is literarly copy+pasted in design from their 2 door sport amg.

The grille on that car looks way better, and more importantly is functional for cooling. The grille on the EV is just an ostentatious light up display.

They should've kept the original GT XX design.

I was trying to find something positive about the look of the car. The only thing I could think of is that it would be easy to find the perfect placement for lidar jammers with such large front and rear grills.

I think the car is attractive overall, particularly in the versions where the headlights are not connected by the black band.

More importantly though, this car appears to explore and hopefully push forward the possibilities of driver engagement in a performance EV. The upcoming Neue Klasse M3 and the electric 718, if it ever sees the light of day, both hold similar potential.

Agree. We are right in the middle of a transition and despite Teslas being around for a while now we are all still early adopters.

1000+ horsepower EVs are hardly new.

And once again….. they’re putting that kind of power in the WRONG vehicle type.

Two things I think EV manufacturers keep getting wrong:

1. they feel the need to make the cars odd looking

2. they make the most powerful 800+ horsepower models…….. as sedans, trucks and SUVs.

Seriously….why?

The first 1000 horsepower EVs from GM should have been the Corvette, not the Hummer.

First 1000 hp Tesla should have been the roadster, not the Model S then X.

Rivian never needed 800+ HP in their truck and full size SUV, etc.

Someone please build us a proper sports car! I love my Taycan, but it would have been way cooler as a coupe and convertible.

The front end really ruins it for me. First thing came to mind was a Hyundai. I had to look it up. That space between the hood and the front does not look good.

Coupes are a limited market and sports car segment doesn't want an EV. Thats why the 718 EV is still in question

It’s the rear for me that looks a bad design. The front is very AMG. Grill looks a bit Aston Martin, but not too bad. It’s just missing the elegance of the price tag.

And for the rear plastic bits on Taycan and MB, it’s why I choose the carbon kits to help reduce that, otherwise it’s easy to wrap them to take that plastic look away. I got interior carbon fiber pieces to cover the plastic parts. Cars left the port. I’ll post before and after pics of the small add ons if they turn out well

This is the only review I have found that actually features driving the car. Check out the driving impressions towards the end of this video:
