The US has some weird quirks for Taycans like coloured side lenses, no matrix headlights, monkey butt license holders...
tell us about it, we are ten years or more behind ROW when it comes to safety systems. With antiquated lighting regulation and the egregious lack of amber turn signals! Very sad.

My lease ends next month and I intend to purchase what has been a pretty flawless ownership experience with my 2023 Taycan GTS ST.

I was very tempted to consider a new one which would need to be specifically a GTS Sport Turismo as is my current one. Finding CPO 2025 GTS ST is very difficult to take advantage of depreciation, and the new ones have gone up in price significantly since 2023. The only two options that I feel I am missing out on is PAR and Soft close doors. Of course the power is certainly increased as well, but I intend to do a MAPEV tune on my car to mitigate this somewhat.

First, do you think I'm missing out too much by not doing a new order GTS ST with all of my favorite options and just deal with the cost?

I do think prudence dictates with 2 kids going to college in the next few years to hold on to my beauty.

My dealer has offered to CPO my lease return car and charge $4k for the privilege. so lease buyout cost+ $4K for CPO + tax. )take my warranty to 6 years from purchase and 100K miles

Or I could just buy out the lease directly from Porsche and get an extended warranty from a reputable company (seems some sponsors on this site have offered discounted warranty packages through their Porsche dealer for inclusionary coverage for vary lengths of time and miles. ) not sure of cost as of yet.

I am leaning towards the CPO route, and then keeping the car until the end of the CPO warranty and move on at that point. Not interested in owning the car without warranty.

Any opinions appreciated or other options I am not thinking about.

I did consider ordering a Cayenne EV, but every time I drive my wife's Macan EV, I'm reminded how much I hate sitting up so high. and concerned I might regret that decision. ( edit, but a Cayenne S EV with PAR and soft close doors is a lot less than the Taycan equivalent so. . .?)
Tell your dealer to CPO the car for the residual and that’s it. The last thing they want is another Taycan sitting on their lot.

Well, thanks everybody. I have come down to doing the lease buyout with the dealer who will do CPO on the car for a fee that is in negotiation. It started at $4k. Hopefully can get them down a little.

will start down the road to personalizing the car a bit more. I have just ordered the MAPEV tune, which will give me 800hp at 100% soc and significantly more power all around at lower Soc’s. Speed limiter will be removed and launch control on flooring it at all times. I have been impressed either way with PRJ and his MapEV product. This should give a little excitement to keep me going for a few years.

Will replace some imperfect PPF, and will be painting a few gloss black bits on the car to body color like the blades on my turbo conversion front lip, side skirt trim and rear bumper diffuser.

Ordered a new OEM steering wheel from Suncoast that I intend to get recovered with perforated leather on the sides with chalk stitching and chalk center stripe while being a little thicker to match my interior and OEM custom floor mats with chalk piping.

just got the car back from the dealer with a new set of NFO summer Pirelli P Zero R tires that were introduced along with the J.2 models and on the 100 miles I did today, really felt good.

All recalls done and still knock on wood, no issues with the car over 29k miles.

my spec of a new Taycan GTS Sport Turismo specced the way I would want it would now be $200k and hard to justify over a $80k lease buyout for now, on a car I obsessed over speccing a few years ago and checking all the boxes my heart desired.

I enjoy this community most of all and glad that I will be hanging around for awhile longer.

Congratulations! Can't wait to hear your feedback on the MapEv mod. It's frightening in that dangerous way! When it hits the second gear the whole car jumps.

Having gone from 23 GTS to 25 GTS here are my assessments:

- Better range, substantially. 299 miles @90%.
- Better charging speed, substantially. 315kW best so far, and holds it deeper into the curve.
- Better performance, substantially. Honestly the first time I've felt a car is "fast enough."
- More noise, in particular a metallic-tinged wind noise from the front left. Might just be mine.
- A bunch of rattles I never had in my previous two Taycans. Also might just be mine.
- Soft close doors are a nice touch, but occasionally take a couple of pulls when exiting.
- A few software improvements to charging UI on the dash.
- I don't use push-to-pass much because I don't have enough empty road; it's just too much.

The biggest benefit is: new factory warranty period. I think that's the most important reason to upgrade. If you can get a low mile CPO, even better, as the warranty term is longer.

Derek, appreciate the analysis,

I just got out of 2026 Taycan GTS loaner and most certainly can see all of your points.

I am able to get my dealer to take my car in from the lease and sell it back to me as a CPO. I have about 29K miles and I have been among the lucky to have had no issues with my car. I did spec it from new and it has all of the specific options that I had wanted including things like PDCC, VLC roof, etc. It is also a Sport Turismo which was very important to me. This narrows the field quite a bit when looking for a CPO 2025, basically nonexistent and the new ones on the lots are nowhere near my preferred spec. It has been hard to justify ordering new given the exorbitant financial hit it would be.

The only few things I would miss are the soft close doors, PAR and the power.

I intend to correct the power issue with a MAPEV tune, and do the more prudent thing at this point. So a known good car, relatively low miles and CPO (my car)

I do not road trip often at all, and my daily commute fits well within the meager range, in today's world, of my Taycan.

It has been very helpful to me getting all of the input from this forum to end up doing the most balanced thing.

If I had been left to my own devices, you would be seeing a Purple sky metallic or Oak green metallic GTS ST with PAR and PCCB's(just for fun) and a 17 year old that will get home schooled for college, LOL.

Sometimes I wish I’d stuck it out with my 23! I don’t think you’ll regret your plan.

Thanks, and this is the route I am going. My dealer will take my lease back, do the inspections and sell it back to me as a CPO. It is certainly the most peace of mind. I won't really need the mileage, but it will give me almost 3 years of coverage from now, during which I can dream about the next gen Taycan.

I don’t know the market for your car, but check if the residual is realistic or high.
If it is high, maybe go back to the dealer, OR another one, and tell them you want the Cert included for the price. All they can say is no

@nischalr, looks like you are keeping it, so the monkey butt surgery should be scheduled as now it will be yours. I am styling my no monkey butt look since I got it and loving it. Let me get the latest picture so everyone can see what I am talking about.

No monkeys please. Euro blank plate made in Germany, then our legal plate over it.

@nischalr you mentionned Cayenne Coupé S, i'm considering this right now, with all options I want & max comfort (20" / PAR) it's 160K€ in France.
Maybe test drive it before making the final decision ?
