Broken DC Flap Causes Bad Charging Day

    How could that happen??

Why do people want SUVs rather than estate cars?

It's telling that so many "automotive enthusiasts" can't see beyond the end of their noses to understand the appeal of an SUV over a wagon/estate. The buyers have spoken with their wallets, and by and large they prefer SUVs to wagons/estates. The general public values practicality and...

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

Right - I know about the 150KW cap - I just wondered how it compared to the "non-Tesla" 400/500V or 800v chargers you've used.

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

What does the curve look like - does it hold at 136KW as long as other brands of chargers do?

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

Nice - what charging speed do you get? 150KW?

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

Magic Docks just added to the Superchargers in Mackinac City, MI. That’s pretty big news as the area is otherwise a DCFC wasteland…

Road trip report: Norfolk (UK) to Austria in Taycan Turbo S

Looks like a great trip! My company actually rented Motorworld for an evening event during a trade show many years ago - an amazing place to visit for any enthusiast! Condolences on the loss of your mother...

    Tesla Price Drop

The Track Mode update was an OTA change, so applies to all Model S, even the LR (non-Plaid). The $20K Track Package includes brakes, wheels and tires, and includes installation by Tesla.

New GTS Sport Turismo Owner...about to drive coast to coast, literally!

If you're going to be in SoCal on a Friday morning, the drive up towards Mill Creek Summit for the Good Vibes Breakfast Club gathering would be worth getting up early for... An astounding collection of precious metal is all but guaranteed... (photo from a GVBC gathering at Newcomb's Ranch in...

    Tesla Price Drop

I guess we're just gonna have to agree to disagree on this. Seems more intuitive and closer to what we've always done to continue using the left hand for all signaling than to remember to start sometimes using the right hand... ?‍♂️

    Tesla Price Drop

I've been considering a Taycan for a long while - don't have one now, but continue to be interested in larger EV sedans, including the Taycan. If I were smarter, I'd have taken the money I paid for my first Tesla and bought TSLA instead! ;-)

    Tesla Price Drop

I just don't see this as an issue. If your hands are at 9 and 3, but the wheel is turned 90 degrees, activating the turn signal stalk will require removing your hand from the wheel. How is that better? I understand that's what we've all always done, but how is it actually better than keeping...

    Tesla Price Drop

Tesla has always been about trying new things. As a consumer, some are ready to something new and see how they might like it, some are not. The yoke was indeed a joke, but the turn signals and shifter are just new and different. I'd have no trouble adjusting. YMMV.

    Tesla Price Drop

Funny thing is that the Plaid actually brakes shorter AND grips harder in cornering than even the Taycan Turbo S. Not suggesting that the Plaid drives better, but its capabilities are nothing to discount… And before anyone counters with “but but but the brakes overheat ZOMGELEVENTY!!!”...

    Tesla Price Drop

The 1020 HP tri-motor Model S Plaid is now less expensive than even the base RWD Taycan. (!!)

First Tesla V4 site in the world with payment terminals

Right - so my original thinking wasn’t completely off track. I’m anxious to try using a Supercharger with our Genesis GV60. In addition to the required (but not yet available in the US) adapter, there’s apparently a technical hurdle between the SuC and E-GMP platform cars that limits charging...

First Tesla V4 site in the world with payment terminals

Thanks. I somehow thought that the V4 stations could provide more power, but I guess that’s true only for 400V EVs…(?)

First Tesla V4 site in the world with payment terminals

Nice! What charging rate did it provide and how does that compare with other DCFCs you’ve tried?
