I would have thought they would, unless they decide on a goodwill gesture.
But I can see why you may want them removed. I had a loaner with them, and being curious person, tried playing with them- they were shockingly useless. They could sticky tape just random PC monitors from a computer shop...
I think WPS9 actually kills the heater. Mine survived 35000 miles and 4 years and failed within a month after WPS9.
Might be a coincidence, but given that this WPS9 makes heating more intense, it’s plausible that it kills the heater. Maybe that’s the reason why they pulled this update
The heater is definitely playing a larger role than just heating the cabin - and it would be really nice if Porsche clarified this rather than downplaying its role.
1) it is the same heater that preconditions the battery. When mine broke in negative temperatures, the car at 350kw Ionity station...
I wrote an official complaint to Porsche UK about all this. Let’s see if they care to do something.
On the other side, despite all this - changed to summer tyres (21 vs 20) and took the car out for a spin on - how magical it is to drive. I am almost ready to forgive and forget all the issues...
I was hoping the saga would end today when collecting the fixed car from the dealer (they delivered it to the dealer on Saturday)...
When the dealer sent me their customary video review, there was a mildly alarming remark about the 'damage to the front bumper' - which I was hoping was some...
I ended up calling every man and his (their?) dog, including Porsche UK customer services - eventually, they agreed that they did indeed agree to repatriate the car to the UK initially, so they will do that. They said it might take 'a month' though... but they will of course let me know...
Well the car is in France “somewhere”. I understand Porsche assistance took it to a dealer who in turn deemed the car in good driving order which triggered computer says no for the recovery to the UK… hopefully I can talk some sense into them tomorrow…
Maybe I didn’t explain well. I have started a downhill journey with a full charge a few times, but I would always have proper regen “feeling”, and the green “regen” dial will be showing even at 100%. My theory is that the excess energy was sent to heat the heating system, and with the heater...
a sad update. After a week of no news, I called the Porsche breakdown to be told they won't be doing anything because "the car is driveable" and no heating is no issue for them. Neither is the issue that they promised it will be recovered having the description of the issue, nor their recovery...
Interestingly enough I have had the same desire because my car was falling apart after having purchased a “Porsche approved” one from a dealer. It took 5 visits in a span of couple of months, and it all looked very fishy. They kept fixing things, but won’t be very forthcoming of what was the...
Just wanted to share an interesting observation about how things seem to work…
when I started my downhill journey with 99% battery and broken heater, recuperation will stop working after the first attempt at injecting some energy into battery. I.e. it will try to recuperate once and then it...
Two very nice chaps came on a truck and took the Taycan away.
the Porsche assistance promised to bring the car to England, and to buy me the tickets and taxi. Fingers crossed…
It’s been very cold here… I understand the “heater” heats up both battery and the cabin, so I went to Ionity (with all seats and steering wheel on full heat), but it won’t do more than 30kw…. I was thinking if I drive it harder the battery might heat itself naturally, but I don’t want to risk...
What is annoying that in my 6 months of ownership the car has been 5 times to the dealer, and every time they would religiously note down in big red letters that my winter tyres are not NF0 spec, but they only scheduled the heater recall for July for me. Knowing all the time that the car...
Thank you all for your kind words, I have now called Porsche assistance who initially told me that heater is not covered, but then they saw the weather they agreed that it is a problem… waiting for them to turn up…
