I probably would if it wasn't for the the $15-20k de-appreciation loss of the first year which I am not willing to accept because it is not my fault that the car has software issues (the one discussed in this thread is not the only one).
It is not just doubt, there are facts like it took them...
This TSB describes exactly what was done to my car 3 weeks ago. See copy of workorder here https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/motor-control-error-fix-2021.5336/page-2#post-76851
The catch with this TSB was that you should have experienced the power loss issue to get the update at that...
I am curious to see how they will justify the lack of OTA once again for an important update.
For WMA they said that some important drivetrain module were updated and they needed to make sure everything is ok so on.
1400 sounds about right if we assume that the bug affects the cars that received WMA update and a few that went through production around the time that the same software as WMA was installed in new cars.
p.s. 1400 is 23% of 6000 Taycans delivered in the US, and I think that 23% is a reasonable...
Are you sure it is charging the 12v battery while connected to the main charger? I would say probably not given the forum wisdom around the 12v drainage during charging.
Being connected to the charger might actually increase the chance of 12v drainage because certain computer modules have to...
well, so was I when I got the update 3 weeks ago but now I am hearing that I might need another update (AMB6 ?) for the update (DME + PE upgrade) of the update (WMA5)....
How can you feel confident after all this?
There is a TSB by Porsche for long term parking. If I remember correctly it says use a general profile set to 85%, no timers, plugged into a charger and over-inflate the tires to 51 - 58 psi to make sure they don't get permanently bent because the car is heavy...
My PMCC's 14-50 supply cable is also #10 size but it has a big sticker that says 16A output...
Do you also have the same label attached to the input cable?
I bet Porsche will give you a new cable (gauge 10) and they will tell you to lower amperage to 30A. If you push them they might reimburse your PMCC and/or buy it back. But I doubt they will address the actual problem. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
I charge at 25A just to be safe even...
For the San Mateo trip, I am not sure if the EA stations in 100 Deanza Blvd are open yet. They don't show up in the Charging NA app and they show up as "coming soon" in EA website. They might be online by September. I am happy to check since I live nearby.
Not a big deal, there are two other EA...
Thanks for organizing again. The Mountain House is another good choice for lunch on Skyline and it is usually easier to park than Alice's. Also the Loma Mar Store & Kitchen on Pescadeo Creek drive
P.s. I will probably scout the San Mateo route either next Sunday or Monday. I will report back.
Yes I have notice that too and if I remember correctly it has been reported by other members.
It is probably optimizing for range with more regen than bite.
The update advertised only some changes but if you look at the details it updated every module of the car.
The software bug affecting Power Electronics module is one of the several reported causes of power loss. Some members have reported hardware related issues like bad main batteries or bad high power cables. Arguably the software but is the reason for the spike in complaints the last two months...
Many current owners including myselft (2020 with WMA5) have received an update for the Power Electronics and DME modules after we had WMA5. The update did not show up in Porsche's system as a recall or campaign when the service advisor checked (at least that was the case earlier this month) but...
I am not sure if it is related or a coincidence but no internal Porsche TSBs have been published to the NHTSA website for May. They used to publish their TSBs monthly at the end of the month but that did not happen for May.
There is a button "A/C Menu" in the lower screen. Click it. You will see the climate menu which has a couple of tabs, one to control the vents and another to control Preheat/cool. These are all the available options.
I personally have preheat/cool timers off but I have it enabled when I unlock...
