I just resigned myself to reading this entire thread. OK I stopped reading and started skimming about half way through. There are three types of people posting on this thread:
1) Taycan owners who love their car
2) Soon to be Taycan owners who will soon love their car
3) Everyone else
For...
Same here - Thursday Sept 9 all was well. Friday Sept 10, no Bluetooth, Wifi, Carplay, SOS call, no LTE data connection, news and weather apps grayed out, Smart Lift not working, telematics out of date since Thursday, vehicle time not auto updating. I believe these are all related to the gateway...
So here is the good news - not one, but two chargers.
The astute observer will now notice the bad news - I'm plugged in to the left side (not DC fast charge port). The chargers are both level 2, not DC fast. 9.1 kW is still 50% better than the 6 kW best reliable charge from the paddock 14-50...
You know the answer. Of course I didn't. Did you measure CD and lift before/after your cool custom diffuser? It's a hobby. We hobbyists sometimes do things for non-data-driven reasons.
The tech inspection "requirement" for brake fluid < 90 days old is intended to also cover track-only cars that...
The addage "check your brakes coming into the braking zone from a high speed straight" doesn't apply with regen. Regen-only deceleration in a Turbo or Turbo S is about 0.8 gs (reasonable guess, not scientifically measured). You'd dump way too much speed too early. But from a safety perspective...
Four track days = ~16 20 minute run sessions. Half my front pad is gone, so the brakes are being used (and any good track driver will tell you I'm not a good track driver if it took four days to use 50% of my pads). Braking in the most recent session felt a bit spongy. Many organized track...
There is also a digital certificate issue with some chargers (related to securing and authenticating your VIN with the charger to verify you are authorized for P & C). The good news is that these are all software issues, and VW Group controls EA and Porsche. So things can be fixed. It may just...
$1000 later ($330 for 6 more qts brake fluid, $700 labor - ouch) and it is back. Dealer has (as one would expect) a procedure for this, including pressure bleeding from the master cylinder and PWIS-directed actuation of the ABS valves. What I didn't know is that the Taycan brake system also has...
Well after a few heavy bleeds (no obvious air expelled) and some very limited driving, all warnings are gone (PSM, all wheel drive, differential lock, brake assist), however the pedal feel is way soft and once the hydraulics engage, it's unpredictable. Appointment in the AM.
So they say misery loves company. Here's my misery.
HPDE coming up this weekend and my factory brake fluid is just over a year old and the Taycan has been to the track three times in the last year. So it's time to change the fluid.
It's not a difficult procedure. I've done it before on other...
How about one simple rule: Delete / deselect ALL profiles; and configure and enable one or more timers for when you want to leave or the end of your low rate electricity.
Timers and profiles do not affect DC fast charging. When you plug into a DC fast charger, it will start immediately and charge until 100% or you stop the charging session.
That's one problem with PRIM, but I do think before I stopped using it there was a setting to prevent it from changing the maximum speed. It's been a while though.
