When you say "Porsche gives me 45%" did you mean a Porsche dealer? That's just the current market and not relevant to how Porsche the manufacturer "values the Taycan", if it's even a thing.
Not sure if it's just me but clicking your link goes to carscoop's homepage? Anyway, this is the full link: https://www.carscoops.com/2023/10/completely-undisguised-porsche-taycan-shows-off-newly-chiselled-cheekbones/
This. People claim Taycan doesn’t depreciate faster than any other 4-door luxury sedans but it clearly depreciates faster than Panamera, which I don’t understand at all.
(If you don’t think it’s true, just spend 5 minutes on Porsche CPO Finder. A 2019 Panamera Turbo with more miles holds more...
For the sake of discussion let's assume there're two identical Taycans (model year/trim/options/mileage/etc), with the only difference being one is certified pre-owned by a Porsche dealer while the other isn't. IIRC it costs a Porsche dealer ~$3k to get a Taycan certified. The CPO price...
A very unscientific way is to look up used Taycans on Porsche's used inventory site: https://finder.porsche.com/us/en-US/search/taycan?condition=porsche_approved&condition=used&model=taycan&minimum-model-year=2021&position=95129%2C37.3052272%2C-121.9871217%2C-1&order=price_asc
Chalk is...
Do you still want to drive it yourself from time to time? Otherwise for Turo it doesn't have to be a Taycan right? I'd imagine there're probably better models out there that make more sense financially.
I think the average age thing might be more about having more disposable income and knowing what we want in a car as we grow older, and less about an MB being younger/cooler than a Porsche.
I wonder if de-badging a high-trim car (Turbo S, Turbo and maybe GTS) can somewhat hurt a car's resale value. While any of you who has done it clearly doesn't care, I have to imagine there must be buyers out there who would really want the world to know they drive a Turbo S when they buy a used one?
If you're set on CPO Taycans then they're all on Porsche Finder anyway.
If you're open to non-CPOs you can use sites like cargurus.com. One nice thing about MY20 is that you can look up the car's options using vinanalytics.com for free, without having to email/call the dealers. Need to pay for...
I get your point and appreciate you sharing the info. That said, what they're asking is inline with the current market. Here's a CPO '21 Turbo S with 4.5k miles asking $145k ($225k MSRP): https://www.porschebirmingham.com/certified/Porsche/2021-Porsche-Taycan-3d3ca1b00a0e094a504e959ee1c7458e.htm
I think OP meant if you get 2 additional years of free EA charging, just like warranty. I believe the answer is no by default, but maybe it's something a dealer can throw in to sweeten the deal.
