hey folks,
A quick, maybe slightly naive question - is J 1.2 still worth buying or are we nearing a big J2.1 (ow however it is going to be called) update?
After my J1.1 was sold a year ago, I am now finding myself gravitating back to the EV idea and, naturally, back to Taycan, which seems to...
hey all,
found something really weird of my August 2023 produced Taycan today.
All door handles except the driver's side have the same round plastic knob under them. It can be seen when they are popped out or, even better, when you pull on them to open the door. The driver's side does not...
posted a workaround that got it back for me in a neighbour thread:
1) turn the car on, ensure it has LTE.
2) enable privacy mode in the PCM.
3) shut the car off, lock it.
4) re-confirmed in the app that the privacy mode is indeed active and I cannot access anything
5) left the car for 30...
happy to report that the following fixed it for me:
1) turn the car on, ensure it has LTE.
2) enable privacy mode in the PCM.
3) shut the car off, lock it.
4) re-confirmed in the app that the privacy mode is indeed active and I cannot access anything
5) left the car for 30 minutes.
6) came...
Identical issue after the latest app update. Temperature settings and seat heating controls are gone in the pre-heating tab and it does not work autonomously.
it does work through setting up a timer, but that one oddly also does not offer temperature selection and just says “heating”...
reviving the thread here.
Taycan RWD, 20k km on the clock, "normal" brakes. Sometimes I feel a "grinding noise" from the front brakes when NOT braking and simply driving around town. The regen is already working and its not during the first brake application after the car has been sitting...
Matter of taste and depends on the motivation. De-badging generally (and subjectively) looks cleaner.
Leaving the badge on only for the sake of demonstrating others the "fast" trim level you have, de-badging to hide a "lower" trim level, as well as up-badging to pretend someone "faster" fall...
I have a bit of an experience with this.
In late 2023, when I took delivery of the new car from the dealer, my HUD was blurry in general. Not "hard to see blurry", but rather "makes you wonder why it is not sharper". So, when I addressed the dealer, they had absolutely nothing to say.
Fast...
my 5 cents: driving the first gen (late 2023) Taycan year round in Eastern Europe. Summers - +30ish Celsius, winters - down to -25/30 sometimes. Works fine in both.
Last winter it spent a few days outside with half-charged battery, wind chill and -30 during the night. Heated up, opened and...
I drive an RWD all year around, +30 to -25 this year, it is my humble daily. Of course, equipped with snow GoodYears.
the versatility is fantastic - I have both driven in absolutely FUBAR snowy conditions with zero issues (including getting out of parking lots, hills, etc), as well as drifted...
few thoughts here:
1) it is nice they've included some of the features in the standard equipment list.
2) the whole thing got even more expensive and, honestly, as a person with no family, I am contemplating my next daily to be a 911 lol, same money.
3) the looks of the new one are yet to be...
An interesting comparison, thank you! Hands down, a GTS is way way way more fun power-wise when compared to an RWD.
I do have a 2023 RWD (standard body) and there are a few reasons why I actually went with it:
1) I live in Europe and in my country, the winter speed limit is 90. The summer...
got to scratch the underside of the front bumper twice when approaching speed bumps too fast (not turtle speed). Taycan has these two weird "humps" under the front bumper that sit super low and end up scratching on things. Did not break anything (yet), but noises are always disturbing.
Friends, this is somewhat odd. I keep getting my windshield chipped. No cracks, rather several “craters” and marks all around.
Is this only me or others have also seen their cars being a rock magnet?
at some point, I thought of changing it, but it really makes no sense.
Quick update here: the seat was pulled out of the car, and dismantled, the inflatable chambers inside the seat are changed, and the sticking sound is gone.
and the issue, though, was the human factor - when pulling the seat out, the dealer managed to scratch the panel under the storage...
170kms is abnormal. Small battery RWD Taycan is getting 290-300kms consistently with everything on, the highway, at -5 Celsius. Music, 20-degree climate, vented/cooled seats, no energy saving whatsoever. 20" Aero wheels with winter Goodyear.
The dealer should investigate.
