Well, since the OP is in the UK, Lucid is a non starter. Yes, they may be making noises about a RHD version of their "Gravity" SUV (appropriate name, given the look of the thing), but I wouldn't touch the company with a bargepole - at least, now that their former CEO the visionary Peter...
@Beattie: As a fellow Tesla owner dipping their toes into Porsche territory, are you tempted to wait for MY27 - or potentially for a new platform for MY28?
That's probably my biggest quandary right now: whether to pay full price for a model that's going to be replaced within the next two years...
Yes, it did have RWS - thanks - so maybe that was it (and of course the 4S didn’t have RWS or PAR)
so… if I were to take advantage of the “Black Edition” pricing, it’d have to be a 4S with 21” wheels (plus PAR, RWS, torque vectoring etc).
A good compromise?

I could understand that at higher speeds, but I’m talking about steering feel at low speeds around town. Surely PAR isn’t making that much difference is it?
I have read somewhere that the GTS does have different steering calibration (but can’t find a definitive link).
If I could have GTS...
This is really useful feedback - thanks.
However, there was a really big difference in steering feel between a J1.1 4S and the J1.2 GTS I drove… Maybe it was simply the stiffer rubber on the GTS car's 21-inch performance tyres? But even in Sport or Sport Plus I simply couldn't get the 4S to...
I think we're all agreed that Active Ride is a great idea! The issue is ride comfort at slower speeds on less-than-ideal roads (e.g., much of the UK) - and clearly 20-inch wheels give more leeway. The big question for me is whether that would then ruin the sharp, responsive steering I...
Thanks for this - very helpful. Presumably the Max summer tyres have stiffer sidewalls?
THE 21” RS Spyder alloys look great, so I wonder if using Summer (non-Max) tyres would be a good compromise beetween handling and low-speed ride comfort (as I think @prj has alluded to).
…and following on from this: if I configure a GTS with PAR I have two choices, either:-
(a) Add PAR as part of the £6939 Dynamic Package. This adds "Summer Performance Tyres".
or
(b) Add PAR on its own, for £6476.
Anyone know what sort of 21" tyres I would get with PAR but without the...
Many thanks - and absolutely agree about our diabolical roads (it would be nice if Oxfordshire would quit their anti-car congestion charging, "Low Traffic Neighbourhoods" and 20mph obsession and actually fix the roads!).
My question is though: how would 20-inch wheels affect the steering feel...
Porsche Silverstone - though they weren’t then prepared to let me drive a GTS without PAR (which would have answered most of my questions to this forum!).
Off topic, but if I were to order the 4S Black Edition, is there a third-party option to replace the black side-window trim with chrome? (The only official way is to forgo the Black Edition and add a Silver side-window trim - but that then makes the car £4.5K more expensive)
Thanks for the helpful feedback!
- As a small person, I love that you can fold the side bolsters inwards for better grip - so definitely 18-way sport seats for me!
- I use A/C all the time, so not sure I need the ventilation. The only time I've used ventilated seats was when driving a...
0.6s faster 0-60 time compared to Gen-1
I believe the Gen-1 car had a less-powerful rear motor than the 4S; on Gen-2 I think they both have the same rear motor.
Thomas from Autogefühl certainly likes it:-
