I’ve had my 4S for more than a year, but due to the risk of a dead 12V battery have only ever manually charged in the daytime. Now following the latest general Software update (hopefully fixing the possible 12V problem) I have decided to try a timed charge. Following an excellent YouTube video...
I’ve been complaining about this one for over a year, without success. It’s apparently down to the standard lights controller thinking it’s in a left hand drive country. . . . . . Loads of promises, no action.
I’ve had the Zappi 2 charger - over a year now - worked absolutely fine. Also has the advantage of different charging modes if you have solar installed. One further advantage is you don’t suffer from earth trip issues and the price is better than Anderson.
The 4S is my first EV, although I was always getting one the moment I set eyes on a Mission E photo at the Porsche track - Silverstone. Around 2014. . . . .
i would think another reason for the 80 - 85% charge is leaving room for the re-gen’ energy. With 100% charge you would be using friction brakes and having dirty black wheels, as with IC cars. . .
Voted VERY HAPPY; that doesn’t mean no problems. Saying that, all the Porsche’s I’ve purchased over the last 10 years have been new models, and all have had issues. I’m grateful I’ve had no issues with the alarm! Unlike all the others! Maybe they have finally go it right?
my biggest gripe with...
Have had my 4S for a year and the only thing that I’ve noticed get updated is the sat nav maps. Is there anything I need to do to enable updates over the air? Especially as I has a problem with PCM not shutting down when the car was locked, resulting in two software updates being loaded at the...
I’ve had the standard brakes on my 4S since June and my drive has never been cleaner. No rust on the brakes (and the car is always outside). When i compare it to all the other Porsches I have had (normal brakes). There is absolutely no comparison. The 4S wins hands down. Save your money for a...
Does anybody know what battery fits the security fob and how to get inside it? One of mine already needs to be changed. Can’t find it in the manual. This is the funny shaped one (vodafone) in the UK.
I was in the camp of just getting out and locking the car with the key, but with the hill rolling issue I make sure park brake is enabled with the red light on, power off with the start/stop button and make sure my wife does the same. . . .
My 4S is quick enough for me. In fact I still haven’t bothered with launch control yet. Sport plus from rolling is enough to frighten passengers and hit legal Speed limits all to quick. . . .
Yes I think you are correct. I remember the Porsche staff having to work late thanks to comments sent in from this forum. Luckily mine was in in time. And they made the deadline.
That’s what I did. Have had no problems with the Zappi 2 and the Porsche charger is the mobile spare That I will take when visiting friends (if we can). Zappi also works with my solar panels.
