  1. Right charging port impaired

Happened to me. Started randomly and became more frequent (but still random). It went in under warranty and needed a complete new charging port iirc.
  2. I just scraped the side of my car on a steel post

Strange really.... I assume it pays quite well, given Porsche is charging c£350ph and there is s vast skills shortage of EV trained techs. If I was younger, I would be far more interested in doing that, than some boring desk based job.
  3. TSB: Replacing Electric Passenger Compartment Heater (WSD8) - April 17, 2025

The original failed heaters was a major issue for a number of years and gave the Taycan so much bad publicity and contributed greatly to its unreliable status. I am shocked that they didn't get it right with the new improved version.
  4. Does a car have to have tailpipes and a gear shifter to have soul?

Imo not at all. No more then it needs the sound of clip clopping galloping hooves. I think it's laughable nowadays if you pull up next to some boy racer type - loud popping exhaust, lowered, tinted, covered in motorsport stickers. And you just silently leave them in the dust in any half...
  5. That's all folks!

The i4 is perfect for me, personally. Definitely doesn't feel like a V1 product. There are very few reported issues and most forum members love their cars and think BMW hit it out of the park.
  6. That's all folks!

Sorry to see you leaving too..... I still visit her, even though I jumped ship to a BMW i4 M50. As well as being the replacement charger champion, your road trips were all really well planned and a true pleasure to read. I only ever needed to charge my Taycan in the wild once in the 3+ years I...
  7. I just scraped the side of my car on a steel post

It happens..... I reversed into a low metal post in a Waitrose car park quite recently. It only damaged the plastic bumper luckily and I was able to get a smart repair done quite cheaply. Yours sounds more expensive. Do you have 'protected no claims' on your insurance? If so what are the...
  8. AMG electric Fastback - June reveal.

Not sure if this has been posted up yet? https://insideevs.com/news/757844/mercedes-amg-fastback-teased-reveal/
  9. Hypervolt & Octopus IG question

That is correct. It was Octopus talking to the car, not the EVSE.
  10. Hypervolt & Octopus IG question

No timers or profiles were set in the car. It was pot luck what I would wake up to......no charge, short charge, correct charge, over charge. Very bad Vodafone coverage where I live so the car never communicated well. Same thing trying to preheat etc from my phone.
  11. Hypervolt & Octopus IG question

I used to wake up to the following list most mornings.....
  12. Hypervolt & Octopus IG question

We do the same on OIG, after we had problems registering my BMW i4 M50 as a device. So we now have 2 BMW cars (EV and a PHEV) both set via the car to 'immediate charge' up to 80%/100% respectively (but varies depending on needs). EVSE set to charge 11.30-05.30 from it's app (not via Octopus)...
  13. That's all folks!

Thanks for all your help over the years w1nge. Greatly appreciated it when I first got my Taycan. You should stick around. I sold my Taycan 6 months ago, but still visit this forum.
  14. TSB: Replacement of High-Voltage Battery on Vehicles up to Model Year 2024 - Feb. 24, 2025

Personally, I think the lack of/poor/contradictory communication from Porsche is adding to the issue and exaggerating the problem. It plays out on an international forum, where people can 'compare notes'. In my experience of car forums, where there is uncertainty, people will start to...
  15. Porsche and Tariffs [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

I heard on Bloomberg that a number of his deep pocketed benefactors had a word with him. Combined with what looks like a liquidity crisis looming. He has backed down. I doubt China will. It will be seen as a loss of face for them and not culturally acceptable.
  16. UK service & costs

If you say which part if the country you are in, I am sure someone will jump in and save you the 20 page read.
  17. Porsche and Tariffs [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

So what's actually happening in the US now the tariffs are in place? Anyone got one on order? Anyone got one in shipment? Have the configurator prices changed? Are used prices starting to correct? Keen to know the facts from the troops on the ground, rather than the (often biased)...
  18. Porsche and Tariffs [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

No need to worry about tariffs now, as nobody in the world can afford a new Porsche any more, as the world markets have imploded. ?
  19. Looking for input on pricing to sell

I always think if you trade or sell a car at the end of it's life with you, it's a result. I have had cars stolen and not recovered. Even worse, if a car is written off in an accident. So, if it's kept you and the family safe for many thousands of miles and hasn't been robbed, then ita a win.
  20. Porsche and Tariffs [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

So, what's going to happen to all of you in the US with the 25% imported car tariffs now in effect as of midnight? How will this affect forum members in the real world? What about used prices in the US? And repairs and insurance premiums?
