China situation not helped with the recent Taycan recall.
18th Nov
Porsche is recalling 15,906 imported Taycan series electric vehicles (EVs) in China as an expansion of a recall announced in May due to the risk of power battery fires.
The automaker is recalling a total of 15,906...
My manual ports used to freeze open if the car had been charging and it went below about - 5c.
Dealer wouldn't fix it, as it was never faulty when I took it in......as it wasn't freezing then. ?
My quick 2p having just sold a RWD Taycan after 3+ years ownership.
Ice Grey was a great colour. Would def choose again.
Sport Chrono irrelevant in a RWD Taycan imo.
Heated steering wheel useful.
20" wheels not too different in range to 19" (the 21" seem to be the bigger hit).
Personally if...
I wonder how the current negotiations between Govt and manufacturers regarding the 22% zero emissions target is going to pan out?
It seems very late in the day to be discussing it in late November.
So will the rules be tweaked?
Or will the Govt actually fine the manufacturers £15k per...
Agree.
People make a video designed to shock, solely in order to get as many views as possible.
This works and the depreciation of Taycans continues to worsen.
So effectively, it's money moving directly from us (owners) to them (YT tw@ts).
I just view them like a pickpocket on a street...
You'll get used to it soon enough.....
And then you'll drive past the petrol station with the fumes and smelly pump handles, and you'll look at the queue of people waiting to hand over wads of cash - and you realise another benefit of ev ownership. ✌️
When I last did it for my BMW M2 it cost £99 for the year.
The Taycan was £269 in August.
Same thing - just doesn't work properly in the Porsche, but costs more.
That's all very useful... and in a watch that is very legible for just telling the time.
I personally don't need something that times laps or is waterproof to 1000ft.
Time / date / timer / legible / lume / 50m+ waterproof.
Thats all I need nowadays.
But no longer my Rolex's which I can't...
I really like that.
Great colour and interesting shape. Love chronos where the sub dials are discreet, so they don't distract from hours/minutes.
Which model is it?
Update.
Found the model.
Question on the hour timer.
Can you set it in conjunction with the 30s timer to show elapsed time - to...
These batteries will no longer support the "catch fire to heat the home" functionality, which is being phased out due to safety concerns.
?
Absolutely epic!
What's funny about that, is that I expect to see it mentioned in the future as AI bots read it and then regurgitate it.
It will be funny if we get another Clown Video on YT (like the one above) where it gets stated as a fact!
?
I started to watch it in the name research.
I stopped almost immediately as it stated "just like other EVs, Porsche' s are prone to sudden fire" with the attached graphic.
It isn't what the evidence suggests...
I've not watched the YT vid.
Is it just some random dramatising 'facts' that are second hand to get clicks?
Or is it a reputable source who has actually done some research first hand with an informative and unbiased opinion?
I suspect the former, given the big smiling/shocked face as the...
Try holding the charger in position until you hear it lock.
I had a lot of issues early on as my home charge lead was stretched. It always triggered the red port fault. It just needed holding in place to engage.
I hope you get things sorted.
Personally, I have found the whole Taycan ownership experience to be (by far) the worst I've had in 40+ years of car ownership.
Whats the point of having a nice car if its always at the dealership?
My biggest gripe was not even being able to get it booked in...
Porsche really need to get a grip of this.
I don't think they realise how damaging to the brand it is.
I have got friends who aren't even into cars ask me how often my Taycan breaks down - as they read something about how unreliable they are.
