  1. UK Budget - good news

Don't forget to leave some gold ingots in the boot along with the charging lead. ?
  2. Terrible experience with brand new base Taycan 2025

Looking at the pie chart, I think most people would have preferred they spent at least half the budget on reliability (instead of zero). It's as if the catalogue of gen 1 issues never happened.
  3. Terrible experience with brand new base Taycan 2025

Beta testers yet again. Seems Porsche learned very little from the first gen Taycan faults and customer experience.
  4. Would you buy a Taycan again?

Amazing isn't it. But still people believe the lies. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-68130432 Meanwhile, I get people love to tell me EVs are rubbish - then they usually say hydrogen is the way forward. I then ask them to explain it. ? Meanwhile I see more and more EVs on the...
  5. Would you buy a Taycan again?

Did you go straight home when you realised tigerbalm, or stay and have a bite to eat in town instead? ?
  6. UK Budget - good news

Fully back on topic... Interesting article today. https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/uks-ev-market-is-the-worst-supported-in-europe-for-government-incentives-polestar-boss/309505
  7. How fire ends my Taycan Love story ...burnt to the ground

If you get a longish one - the sharp spike is also handy for lamping any potential car jackers etc in an emergency. With a genuine reason for carrying it around (unlike a baseball bat).
  8. UK Budget - good news

Typical was reception at my OPC telling me that the used car buyer doesn't have a phone!! ?? They will email him and he will 'definitely call me back'. Just plain lies! How thick do they think we are? I don't like people mugging me off with utter Bullshit. Its a shame, as I quite enjoyed the...
  9. Reset the car for a new owner

Agreed a sale on mine too. After 3y 3m will be moving back to BMW (i4 M50). Mixed emotions.... Car has been enjoyable to drive, but ownership experience poor. So many recalls and faults, with premium prices from dealers, for below premium service. Its not really been the Porsche experience I...
  10. UK Budget - good news

I haven't found depreciation too bad.... I have just agreed to get rid of mine and got nearly 50% back as a p/x after 3y 3m ownership and 23k miles. It's a 2021 RWD and cost £84k new / £40k p/x offered. I have bought a BMW i4 M50 that is 'nearly new' . So BMW have taken the depreciation hit on...
  11. Reset the car for a new owner

Out of interest, if you do the factory reset, does it also remove the updates etc it's received? Or does it basically remove your personal info, but keep the system in its latest state (map updates etc)? I may be selling mine very shortly, so this is all useful to know.
  12. Excessive tyre wear.

Unfortunately it's a very common issue with the Taycan. And AFAIK we have never been able to get a definitive reason for it happening, as it was across models, years, wheel size, tyre brand etc. Mine were all shot at 16k miles. All looked OK, but inner wall was very bad. Luckily, it was picked...
  13. Milage vs price for CPO cars

I suggest having a look at the first few pages of this thread. https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/underbody-protection-panel-damaged-batteries-and-coolant-lines-need-inspection-72-5k-replacement-labor-cost-dealership-is-tom-wood-in-indiana.20407/ With regard your initial question, I...
  14. "Porsche Changes EV Plan, Will Give Electric Models ICE Powertrains Too" - Article

...........and looking at that story on the Xiaomi claiming the lap record from the Taycan today (albeit unfairly), the development speed is startling. Meanwhile Porsche (and other German manufacturers) are like rabbits dazzled in the headlights and keep changing direction as they don't know...
  15. "Porsche Changes EV Plan, Will Give Electric Models ICE Powertrains Too" - Article

Interesting developments on the EU/China car tariffs today. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/eu-slaps-tariffs-chinese-evs-risking-beijing-payback-2024-10-29/ German car makers are finding themselves in a very bad situation, in a very short space of time. This is the most...
  16. Charging limits? New owner....

One other point of interest. If using Octopus Intelligent Go (not sure of other smart charging systems) if you leave the car plugged in, on the 2nd night it will charge up to 100%. So say your target is 85%....it will do that overnight. But if it stays plugged in and no changes are made - it...
  17. Range vs. Temperature question

20% drop summer to winter is about the norm for my car in the UK, which is not as extreme as your weather.
  18. Should Cyclist's help the economy and pay road tax and have insurance

I think they are the same nowadays? Uk now generally using the US version....add 000 for million, billion, trillion. 1,000,000 1,000,000,000 1,000,000,000,000
  19. Should Cyclist's help the economy and pay road tax and have insurance

Its interesting the whole confusion over millions, billions and trillions. The best way I found (financial services industry) is to ask people, without working it out - how long ago was a million seconds / billion seconds / trillion seconds. I often give them the million seconds (about 11...
