Sadly, Porsche implemented only two ways to heat the battery artificially. (Batteries are “naturally” heated when energy is either pulled from them or pushed into them)
1. Set Navigation Destination to a DC Fast charger. The car will preheat the battery to be above 77°F upon arrival.
2. Begin...
To expand on your statement, and to repeat for others what you and I have discussed:
It is quite possible that there have been two (or more?) problems that have similar user-level symptoms (“dead 12v”). It is even likely that Porsche has fixed two problems (one in battery firmware, one in...
“It’s 14°F outside, and I want to drive somewhere. Let’s preheat the car!”
But yeah, sometimes it is easier (read: takes less time) to walk out to the car.
I humbly bow and step back, leaving the task in Dave’s very capable hands!
Now, if Porsche wants to PAY us to support their fast-growing ownership base, then perhaps I could be persuaded to do some (more) actual Work!

I don’t post a lot there, but it’s the most general IG I have. It’s mostly cat & kitten photos. I foster kittens and volunteer at the spay/neuter clinic at my local shelter. (No, I’m not a vet, I just wash things, sterilize other things, and cuddle kittens...
Why Go?
Six years ago, my life changed radically. Unplanned retirement, divorce, etc.
I decided on a path: I’d live my life as I wanted, making my own self happy, not stressing over money, answering to no one (except my cat), giving back to community and the world, spending or giving money at...
This was a difficult decision to come to, but I guess it needs to be made. I’ve decided to sell my Taycan.
It has been a wonderful experience, a fantastic ride, and through this community I’ve met many great and generous people, both virtually and in person.
I’ll wander back through...
Minor correction: I didn’t lose driver’s seat heating while driving.
Initial builders didn’t connect my Driver’s Seat Cooling plug connector.
Also, a rear seat heater wasn’t connected.
I didn’t notice either of these immediately after taking delivery because I didn’t need cooling and I...
I had no problems parking outside as I crossed Canada last February. Temperatures (while I was awake) were as low as -10°F. Maybe colder as I slept (in a hotel, not in the car).
My Porsche dealer (in Maine) offers this storage service for $130/year. Plus two (spring & autumn) $130 charges to swap the tires.
On all my other cars I’ve done the swaps and storage myself.

I do not believe the 12v battery can be damaged by “jump starting” the 12v battery (assuming you use devices within the specs of a 12v lithium battery).
If the 12v battery is damaged, the car will put up an alert, which will occur every time you start the car. (First hand experience) Original...
There's no point in having the car brought in to Porsche to fix it... because Porsche doesn't yet know what is actually causing it. They are actively working on it, of course, but so far, there's no correction known.
Just the front end banged up a little bit. It’s not like there’s anything expensive up there. (Go see recent pic of “naked frunk”). LOL.
Too much money.
No driving skills.
Good. Spare parts for the EV Conversions market.
I really love the Cherry Red. Bramble berry interior. Red seatbelts. Wood trim. And a purple pimp hat with a big feather. Damn. I’d rock it.
I’m gonna need a LOT more money.
(looks skyward, hoping for a rain of gold bullion)
