There's some overlap between the recall & updates. One of the recalls was for sudden power loss & the fix was to update the software. MY21 also had a recall regarding the routing of a wiring harness behind the back seats. There's a new recall about the PMCC overheating receptacles but it...
Then your car had all these updates at delivery. I'm still on old software but my dealer won't do it yet because they have five bricked Taycans in the bay already. Porsche made a mess of the upgrade process.
Absolutely. I went silver for this reason but if it was just for me (& no worry about attention), I'd go Mamba Green or Carmine Red. Chalk & Ice Grey are also really nice but I thought the upcharge was outrageous.
My dealer has my car for a windshield replacement. They told me today that that the ANA6 and AMB5 updates are on hold due to high failure rates on installs so they don't want to do it on my car until Porsche gets their act together.
As a former Macan Turbo owner and current base Macan loaner car sufferer, I assure you they're completely different vehicles. The Turbo was loads of fun - nearly twice as much power as the base Macan, lowered air suspension, bigger wheels, etc. They should've kept the base Macan China-only...
I agree with all of this. I passed on Burm in favor of PCCB because I hate brake dust & it was horrible on my Macan Turbo.
VLC Pano - not offered on my 2021 & I desperately wish I had it. Anytime close to noon, I have to wear a hat to keep the sun out of my eyes.
ACC/InnoDrive - have both...
Yup I did the same on the rear door.
Thanks. I tested with the curved area by the back window because it's an area I'm ok with trimming back if this cleanup doesn't work. Depending on how that works out (I have it taped down & haven't lifted it yet), I'll decide what to do with the door. Good...
I have all the tools, including edge prep adhesive if I need it. The question was more about handling the lifting than the dirt removal. I just don't want to damage the trim but I'd rather lift & tuck than trim back the film. Thanks for your help!
Hello fellow detailing enthusiasts,
I got way too ambitious and decided to do my own PPF job. HUGE amount of work but I actually kind of enjoyed it. I've now run into an issue though that I'm hoping one of you can help me out with. It's in several places but I'm posting a picture of the most...
Porsche uses higher grade leather than BMW. However, I don't think it's a good thing. Fancier leather is softer and less durable. This is my second Porsche after several BMWs and the Porsche leather does require more care.
Before complaining to the dealer, I'd see what leather conditioner...
Does the Ireland price include tax? US prices never do because taxes vary by state. I don't think the money Porsche gets for a base car varies much between the US & EU. US maybe a little less because US cars tend to carry more profitable options.
Find a way to sit in both seats. I got the 18-ways mainly because I think they look cooler but they're definitely less comfortable (and I'm small). No one else can tell you what seat your body will fit in best.
RAS is a no-brainer.
I don't have the 3D surround but the overhead view is...
I had it in my Macan & now in my Taycan. The downsides:
1. It makes toll tags a pain in the butt.
2. The option includes the windshield, so if you need a windshield replacement it's big $$$.
3. Car still heats up plenty because of the pano roof. It's more effective vs sound than heat.
4...
B/D. I was infatuated with this car since the Mission E concept. Now that I have it, I'm enjoying the benefits of it being electric and finding the drawbacks to be quite small. The electronics are gimpy as hell but I give it the two-finger salute every few weeks to beat it back into shape...
Many Porsche dealers in the US do this. Years of big Cayenne sales in the US helped them expand their footprint to better handle the volume from the Macan & Taycan. UK service seems pretty bad from the stories I've read on here.
