Yeah... other ships historically have been in port for a little over 4 days. Meanwhile, Siem Aristotle has been moored in Emden for more than double the duration this time around.
I went with ChargePoint based on positive reviews and installation/ongoing use subsidies from my electric company. Still awaiting for my build to arrive, but have had friends use my charger while visiting with no issues.
Sorry for unnecessary @mention, I missed your post, as I was typing mine.
Same… thinking Siem Aristotle. Either way, I’ll take arriving a few days earlier than the last TYD update provided!
In an unexpected surprise, my build moved to the next stage and has left Emden for Davisville. The latest TYD dates don’t exactly line up with the latest vessel schedule… but likely Siem Aristotle, I think.
@solid_snake - did your TYD update? Hoping you made the latest vessel to depart Emden...
My build is scheduled to sit at the Emden port for 4 weeks before getting on a vessel to Davisville, RI. Not sure if that’s related to limited vessel space (I missed the vessel that drpartedor waiting on the installation of a newer HV Heater.
Either way, hoping my delivery is still in April!
TYD has officially bumped my build to leave Emden on 4/7…. looks like missing two earlier vessel opportunities and now scheduled for the SFL Conductor to Davisville. My delivery has been pushed by 3 weeks so far with an estimated end of April date.
Thanks! Finally an updated schedule posted on their site. Looks like two more chances for an April delivery, if I missed the first boat going from Emden to Davisville.
No updated info on TYD after my build arrived at Emden. If I don’t see anything this week, I’ll follow up with my SA.
You’re right, Siem Confucius is in Emden port currently. I can’t quite tell if it’s destined for Davisville, but it’s done the RI/FL circuit previously. We’ll see!
Thanks for sharing. I'm also keeping an eye out for Davisville deliveries. If my build didn't make the 3/13 vessel out of Germany... sounds like the next one might be 3/24 per your TYD. Can't tell which vessel just yet.
If the top navigation of the website loads... click the "X" on any of the pop-ups (e.g., survey at the bottom of the page and another pop-up in the middle of the page)... then just wait for the middle of the website page to load.
It seems to be pulling from a separate source that takes awhile...
I looked at the Davisville Port website to see what I could find. Jacksonville Port has a website as well. I match that against references I've seen to the following vessels / vehicles carrier in the forum: Supreme Ace; Siem Aristotle; Sunshine Ace; Siem Cicero; Siem Confucious to name a few.
I...
Thanks to previous info shared on this forum, I was able to find vessels (type: vehicles carrier) headed for Davisville, RI. Based on timing, the Supreme Ace just left Emden and is estimated to be in RI at the end of the month.
I can only hope my luck continues and somehow my build got on that...
I agree that the PC analogy is not as applicable... although, with over-the-air software updates, there will be a point where some EV's won't be able to take new features, given the likely need for increased processing power / complexity.
I've also thought of the Taycan using the iPod analogy...
Given the pouch (flexible) cell design of the Taycan battery, it would be great if newer, future battery tech could also be retrofitted into this Gen1 modular case... for a fee of course. The fact that the Taycan was also built with 800v architecture does make me think Porsche was thinking for...
Surprisingly, my build keeps moving through each step in TYD. I keep expecting no updates at all or delays... but so far, so good!
My build is now at the German port. However, I don't know of any ships currently in port and planned for Davisville, RI. I can't locate the latest schedule on PWL...
