My SA said something like "you definitely qualify for our very best 2.74% rate through Porsche financial" but I haven't actually talked with anyone in the finance department there yet, so keeping the door open. The lowest I've found so far has been through my auto insurer, USAA, who offered me...
At least we're all in the same boat (har har, get it)
On the bright side, this delay has given me more time to get prepared for the car's arrival (get the best finance rate from lenders, shop around for PPF / tint, research the apps we'll need to install, etc.)
At this point the Asteria Leader's cars have been sitting at the port for over a week. While I'm sure the New Years holiday is partially to blame, it's not very helpful that the only intel we have at this point are very vague and unspecific reasons for the delay.
I don't have a solution or real...
The Defender was $1300 (ceramic + 1-step paint correction). For the Taycan it will be less since it's obviously a much smaller vehicle, but the amount depends what shape the paint is in, i.e. how much of a correction it needs, and I still don't have the car yet. So hoping for $1000 or less.
I'm in the San Gabriel Valley, so might be a trek for you if you're in LA proper, but my longtime detailer did the paint correction and ceramic coating (XPEL) on my Defender back in Feb '21. They did a great job, still looks spectacular almost a year later, so will definitely have them do the...
Just ordered a second license plate from Reviver at the discounted rate, this one for the Defender.
Really need to stop reading this site, it's just causing an exponential increase in my spending. :CWL:
I'm normally a fan of all-black wheels, but went with silver on the Mission E's for my black Taycan. I agree with Ray, the color lip is what makes the Mission E's really stand out -- the all-black is still a nice look, but not quite as distinctive IMO. Either way, they'll look good.
Here in California the po-po are generally pretty lax on front plates. I've never had one and have only been ticketed once.... and that was years ago. Knock on wood.
It hasn't been my impression that people on this forum ardently believe they know what's going to happen. Just that they are hoping to get cars in 2021, as we know for sure that we will get the credit. For 2022 purchases, we know there's at least a good chance we will not get the credit. Or is...
Bob, congrats and I think you may have been one of the few lucky ones. Still holding out hope for a 2021 delivery but from what I'm hearing transport on NYE doesn't sound too likely.
Looks great. Love the color choices.
Were it me, I'd definitely go for the window trim in black - it better suits the sporty nature of the Taycan, and would also go better with the aggressively dark exterior color and wheels you've selected IMO. I've had Porsches both with and without the black...
Yes indeed, if anyone has a car held up at the SD port and you find out it's moved to the transport stage, please do notify us here. Obviously we'll do the same. I have a very attentive SA but would just like to be doubly sure we're all still stuck in this together... heh.
Re: Asteria Leader - still no word from my dealer regarding transport, with a big rainstorm expected to hit SoCal this afternoon and last through tomorrow. I just got an emailed flood warning.
Folks, we may have to kiss our 2021 hopes goodbye.
Yes to both. I didn't PPF my Macan or Panamera and have the rock chips on both hoods to prove it. I'm definitely going to PPF the hood and front mirrors of the Taycan, and then have a ceramic finish applied over the entire car. A good local shop quoted me $3500 for the PPF hood, mirrors, and...
Mine said the same, i.e. that the dealer prep work takes about half a day but they will do "everything in their power" to contract out the car same day as received. He also called the possibility of taking delivery by the end of the week a "long shot" or something to that effect, but I took that...
I ordered it on mine, solely because I once owned a Honda Clarity and forgot to close that port cover door all the damn time. My car is also black, so I didn't think the change in exterior appearance would be noticeable. Guess we'll see.
