US customers have access to an app called Track Your Dream where they can see the status of their car from allocation up to delivery. Once their car is on a ship they can see the name of it. Unfortunately Porsche hasn't deemed us UK customers worthy of having access to this app so we have to...
I haven't heard anything either, presumably still sitting at Emden. There was a ship that went from Emden to Sheerness on 20th Jan that I was hoping my car was on but it seems not
Can you only find out info for US cars? I'm in the UK and my Taycan has been stuck at Emden for over a month. My dealer is pretty clueless why this is (not all his fault, I expect the information flow from Porsche is far from optimal). If I DM you my VIN can you find out what's missing?
Ah, right. I know you'd mentioned the floods previously as a reason for the 'ghost cars' but hadn't picked up that yours was a July build
I like that you're so friendly with your dealer that he puts kisses at the end of emails he sends you ?
This is a good question, I'm not sure I've seen anybody confirm they've received a July build MY21. I'm waiting for a July build MY21 and like you, I was told that my car was at the port on 17th December and I'm still waiting, as detailed in the Delivery Delays thread.
What makes you think...
Yeah, it seems you have the ridiculous situation where they can sell used cars way above MSRP but if they receive a new car they have to sell it at list
This is all very interesting. My car started production in July so even though it didn't exit production until November it has an 'M' for the 10th character in the VIN indicating MY21
I signed a 'preliminary registration' document that has a 71 reg number in it so you're probably right that if...
My dealer definitely gave me the reg number of my car when he contacted on 17th December while it was waiting for a boat at Emden (and is still sitting there to this day). It'll be interesting to see whether this is the reg that the car has when I collect it. I'm starting to think that the...
You could be right actually. With used Taycans going for well over MSRP at the moment, that could lead to an interesting difference in prices on a dealer's forecourt if someone does cancel an order for a car that's already been built!
These things are still affecting MY22s though and they are being delivered to customers. As people have said before, there's something that happened to those July build MY21s that Porsche aren't admitting to
Totally agree with you about cancelling your order is pointless if the car is already...
Well, when my dealer contacted me before Christmas he had a reg number for me (a 71 plate) so mine is presumably already registered. Going to be embarrassing if like you say it's delivered after 1st March and I'm receiving a 71 after people are receiving 22s
When it became obvious in September...
I feel your pain. My MY21 RWD finally exited the factory on 26th November after being given an initial build completion date of 15th July and made it to Emden on 17th December when the dealer contacted me to say "we expect it to be delivered to the centre next week". I contacted him on Monday to...
