My 2 cents on that whole technology debate
1. Infotainment…I think the differences are overrated. Especially if you use CarPlay or android auto. Did my BMW M8 have a more refined interface? Yes. Does that matter? No.
2. Self driving tech is decades away. If you need that so desperately then a...
I received the letter for recall ARA5 and called my local Porsche dealer. They said they had no info of any recall for my vehicle and referred me to Porsche USA. I called Porsche USA and they said same, no recall in their system for my vehicle.
Any explanation why I got the letter in the first...
Not sure about CA but in FL car has to be new and within 2 years of buying it. The fact it is a 2022 makes it unlikely its still covered under the law. I think CA has 18 months period, someone correct me if I am wrong.
You are correct, the real world miles dont match but the increase in range is on the guessometer. Even in real world driving I have noted an increase in the mileage.
I was one of the "lucky" ones who needed a new battery pack. I had my GTS for only 2 months and they had to replace it. Interestingly, the range on the vehicle improved by about 25-30 miles. Again, the original battery pack was only driven for 2 months...
Pre-replacement estimated range was...
Didn’t watch the video but isn’t the range on highway at 70 mph naturally 30-40 miles lower because there is no regen? On my GTS I would get a theoretical max of 200-220 miles at that average speed.
get the corresponding windshield mount available on Amazon and attach it to the glass roof if you have that option on your car. I have the insulated windshield as well and was getting no sat message when I had mounted it on the windshiel. Once I attached it to the glass roof no further issue.
Unless they compare head to head I wouldn't make an argument Plaid is much faster. Can't compare numbers due to too many viariables like road surface, ambient temperature, SOC, tire temperature and so on. 0-60 Tesla publishes is incl roll out for example. I am not saying Plaid is not faster but...
1. I had a Taycan loaner while mine got a new battery pack. Doubt they will re-imburse the gas.
2. Call Porsche USA and create a case and complain about the duration of the repair required, your car seems to be out of the lemon law time period but it never harms to file an official complaint...
Friend of of mine got 3k off MSRP on a 2025 model after talking to several dealers. No significant discounts to be expected for now. For 2023/24 models you can easily get up to 20% discount if you lease it and are good at negotiating. They are desperate to empty the existing stock.
Mine finally got fixed. 2 weeks to diagnose and get answer from Porsche, 4 weeks for battery to come from Germany. 2 days to install, checks and get release from Porsche. Had a Taycan CT loaner for that time period.
Go into the charging option in the PCM, click on the … icon in right lower corner and check the option for plug and charge. Should work every time. No need to use the app.
I would be shocked if the new battery pack would be compatible with the old models. Christmas and easter would rather fall on the same day before Porsche would make that happen.
