I have a ‘24 CT4 that I bought Jan 15, 2024. Overall am really loving the car, but there are humps and bumps!
I don’t mean to refute any of the other answers here, but I have had two times where I have lost all ability to connect to the car through the app. It lasted for days/weeks, and both...
Dealer took this into account when car was traded/lease returned.
Make them put it on a lift so you and the tech can inspect, THEN if it is only the chin piece, have them replace it. Otherwise move on. Buyer’s market!
If you’ve had a loaner, there is your goodwill. Law suit requires establishing damages on your end and that is a tough challenge the way you’ve described it. If you wanted to trade in on something new maybe Porsche helps with small discount. They will do nothing on a used purchase.
“They did not let me test drive the car…”
This jumped right out at me. You took an enormous risk buying this without checking it out. You had a choice to walk away, and did not.
I don’t mean to imply that the dealer was without blame, but they are a notoriously poor segment of the population...
No way to know if the noise on mine was like anyone else’s.
But the tech was able to replicate the noise I’ve had since day one, and said he replaced the latch.
I haven’t gotten the car back yet, so fingers crossed that solves it!
I am taking mine in next week for recalls, and have to ask about this too.
My ‘24 CT has had a rattle that sounds like aluminum tent poles.
I did check to insure that the shelf supports were folded out, but it didn’t help.
Good luck with yours.
This is a Taycan forum, luxury goes without saying.
But for more everyday brands, Hyundai selling Ionic 5 for 20% off MSRP, for months now. They wouldn’t be doing that if the market was strong.
Porsche finance guy told me they cannot give EV away.
Tesla I have no idea. Personally would not...
Buyer’s market.
My 39mo. lease is based on a 50% residual. Not sure if I will buy it or not, but if so I plan to offer wholesale price (which is all Porsche can get if they take it back, so why offer more?).
If they don’t accept it I’ll move on to something else.
Sorry you had that experience.
These cars have great technology but it all comes down to a few square cm of contact with pavement. If you cut a corner there, all of that technology will not help.
I would never downgrade tires. Why buy such a car and handicap it?
Looks like a terrible deal. They can’t give these away. See that the wholesale value is, then try halfway between that number and 100k. Or just walk away.
When I read this I was hearing ”The definition of insanity…” in my head.
I have a 2024 CT4, and really enjoy it. But this is using money to vote for policy.
There is no way that buying or leasing an EV in 2024 can be justified on a financial basis unless you are doing really good drugs.
2024 CT4 here. Following this because I have had what sounds like aluminum tent poles rattling from the rear, since delivery in January.
Had dealer check it once but they said they could not duplicate the noise. Haven’t bothered taking it in again.
Check the trade in value, add 5%, make that offer.
Manufacturers cannot give these away right now. The discount you are mentioning sounds terrible. I got $22,000 off on a brand new 2024 CT 4 that listed at $134,000, in January.
Re: 30 minute charging sessions.
Dealer told me there is a 15 minute grace period, so you can get almost 45 minutes before they hit your CC.
If it is one of the 150 ones, I can take on a lot of power in that time.
I’ve been really happy with EA experience locally. Sometimes they are full, but it hasn’t been much of a problem.
The other day I went about 50 miles away to an appointment, and was early. I had several stops to make before heading home so I took a sip at an EA location.
It was one of the 150kw...
