I can vouch for the Bay Area that I can walk into at least a couple of different Porsche dealers and order a Taycan via an allocation available, spec it - just like the good ole days.
I had that in my app, but when I logged into into it via the Porsche website, it wasn't showing as a completed purchase in the connected store.
Wasn't easy to find TBH - the Porsche support person coached me through it and it fixed the issue for me. Its at least worth a call to Porsche that...
Porsche has a really convoluted way of activating free charging. You actually have to "purchase" it in your account. This is separate from your myporsche account. Seems weird but in scanning the feedback didn't see it as a potential for the issue.
FWIW I had similar issues on the anniversary...
That's now 6 cars with high voltage battery replacement requirements reporting on the forum in just over a month. Feels a little less random than being unlucky.
83kW battery with about 170 real world mile range with a starting price of $250K est....nuff said
I would say that the Taycan is in the catbird seat. Maserati doesn't exactly have the greatest reputation either.
I guess there's someone for everyone. Looking at something for a period of time rarely translates to 'that is beautiful'....I've been stuck behind far too many traffic jams due to the rubber-necking effect of an accident to think otherwise.
The model 3 is generally not a top 10 most beautiful...
The dealers are being hit pretty hard right now. Sales have dropped off a cliff and the money is not following in. Some of them carry up to $1M/month in operational expenses. So while the excuse for limited loaner access for the last 2 years has been supply chain, its shifted to cost containment...
mine was straight to a bad battery. No mention of a faulty charger, and now have to wonder if both should be done. Does Porsche fully understand the problem or do you get the sense that they are exploring and fixing?
could they please give us at least SOME hope that they will change the rear bumper cover. Not seeing it covered in the Spy shots is horribly disappointing.
honestly I don't know what to think....number 2 on the list is the Model 3.
Was this done using beer goggles?
wait a min...in the overall catagory, the Model 3 comes in better looking than the R8, AMG GT, and McLaren 720...
The Porsche mileage estimator, at least on the .com version for NA doesn't allow you to zero out city driving - you can lower it to 5% (when I played with it).
FWIW the 'real' range is best looked at to be around 200 miles. And if you are going farther than that in a single day you are likely...
This thread is as informative as it is entertaining. Thanks to the OP for sharing the experience and timing. A couple of things were said that are kind of glazed over that should at least cause pause for all of us as owners.
First, I'll preface it with I had my own failure just over a week ago...
Gonna do my best to not sound salty here. The response from Porsche so far has fallen horribly short of a reasonable standard. Here goes....
This is a really concerning aspect of the Taycan - same warning on the dash, inconsistencies in how its tracked in the ECU, and it has a spectrum of...
and just had a preliminary call with service. The battery pack needs replacement.
Anyone have experience in this? Timing, level of complexity etc. Is it months - have people lemoned over this? Way uncharted territory for me. If it were an ICE car it's like the drivetrain failing 10K miles in.
