Chalk is a color you're going to want to see in person and in both sunny & cloudy conditions. It's available on most Porsche models so you should be able to find it.
Chalk is on my list of colors not to order without seeing in person. It can be polarizing. I like it but my brother, also a huge...
1) you answered your own question. The insurance company weaseling out and/or providing a payment that doesn't cover the full diminished value. Good luck getting someone else's insurance company to properly estimate diminished value on a Taycan in this market and then actually send you that...
Yeah, this has been out for a bit. What an absolute shitshow. If they truly are delaying the EV Macan just for the software, heads should be rolling. That's a massive problem.
It has been eye-opening to go from a Taycan into an i4. BMW's system feels about 2-3 generations newer/better...
The REALLY annoying part is the 992 DOES have it on demand, by pressing a button in the middle of the mode selector knob. It puts you in the sportiest setting w boost for 20 seconds.
It'd be amazing if the Taycan had that, too. Unclear why it doesn't.
Welcome to 2022. Every car model is being sold with "trivial faults".
Material quality is way down, labor is difficult, and quality standards have fallen for every single manufacturer. Im not excusing that it sucks, but it is what it is.
Take it to the dealership.
The Polestar drives like a 1950s schoolbus compared to a Taycan and the quality gap is about the same. :CWL:
A CPO Turbo at $130k is a suspiciously good deal. I'd be extra careful checking out the car, especially software & battery.
It's not service money, actually. Porsche is punishing dealerships for selling new cars out of state, the dealership runs the risk of getting less allocations.
When dealerships were getting more allocations than they could sell, they didn't care. But now that the opposite is true they won't...
You're pretty much out of luck if you aren't in a dealership's local area. Unfortunately this gives dealerships even less incentive to be good at what they do, so expect worse & worse service.
I would never, EVER, spec Frozen Blue unless you're 100% sure. Period. It is a very polarizing color and if you have any doubts it's just not a good call. I personally find it awful and I'd probably have it as the worst Taycan color if I ranked them. If you love it? Get it! If you're not sure...
Until the SA you trust gets laid off before your order goes to the factory and the dealership decides to screw you over. This has happened to me twice with two different Porsche dealerships.
Place refundable deposits with anyone that'll take it. Cancel the others once a car enters production...
The "range" your dash displays means nothing. You didn't wake up with less range, it's a guess based on temperature, driving style, etc..
Range will be lower in inclement weather, especially cold, but the GOM (guess-o-meter) can be overly dramatic about it.
My Taycan would routinely show me...
It matches up with the electric Macans we've seen testing. Truly looking hideous. Looks like a lovely Porsche EV on the front, glued with a Mach-e/Model X hybrid on the back.
I get aerodynamics but ugh. At that point I'd rather have the iX with its ultra nice interior & fantastic tech.
It might affect resale a bit, at least in terms of trade in value, but I wouldn't worry about it. You're talking a really minor hit a ways down the road. Get the color you want.
Carrera White. There's a reason it's on all the marketing. I've seen every color in person and it suits the Taycan the best.
Wheels make a HUGE difference as well, unfortunately 20" is the sweet spot IMO but the 20" options on the Taycan are meh. If I reordered I'd get free 19s and upgrade...
