Here's my solution - £13 (US$17) from eBay:
Keeps the key clean and scratch free plus, being rubber, it doesn't slip through your fingers when you're trying to hit the trunk/frunk release. I know it's not pretty ( ? ) but the key stays in your pocket anyway, so you never see it.
