My Production Start Date remained 2/17 as of TYD last night on the old version. As of this morning (yes, I check multiple times each day... :CWL: ), TYD is no longer available.
I can only hope this means the car is in production and when the TYD button/link returns... I'll be on the updated...
I realize it’s purely aesthetic and subjective but trying to go more for the look on the left than the right… didn’t know if others had considered the same.
Thanks to all who have posted in this forum. It’s been invaluable in ordering my first Porsche and EV. A bit of a detailed question…
For those of you who applied rear window tint, did you consider / have the upper brake light removed prior to tint installation?
I’m going with 20% and prefer...
My browser rendering was also a mess... undefined object error making it unusable in Safari; passable in Chrome. Deleted cache and it's still the old format for me.
Not that you can really time an order perfectly... but I thought I was doing well all things considered. My TYD dates were pulled...
I'm no expert as well... but when I was researching whether to get the on-board 150W/400V DC Charger (spoiler: I optioned it), it sounded as if very few DC fast chargers in North America were built on 400V system, with the significant exception being the Tesla supercharger network.
It doesn't...
Appreciate the perspective. How's the headlight brightness generally? any concerns?
The (non-matrix) PDLS+ on the 4S seem like they should be plenty bright (see video below). Here in the US, given regulations, matrix headlight technology isn't enabled. Beyond preferring current year headlight...
I'm looking forward to driving my first Porsche and EV... both of which, I've heard separately, are unique and enjoyable driving experiences. Trying to wait as patiently as I can to put the combination together!
Based on these pics, I also prefer the look of the current generation (and hoping my order stays as a MY23)... with the smoother curves extending above the headlights and the way the headlights are set back on the inner corners closest to the hood emblem.
I have confidence in Porsche that the...
I went with ChargePoint Home Flex EV charger at 48A.
Electric company offered a purchase and installation rebate to reduce the cost slightly. Tested it out on a friend's Ioniq 5 and it's ready to go for whenever my Taycan arrives...
The Sport Turismo does look very good! And I had no idea it would take ~7hrs of dealer installation and $1,500+ to retrofit the Electric Sport Sound. Wow!
Certainly get the opinion of others who have experienced both first-hand, but I much prefer leather over race tex (alcantara). From hearing the opinions of other on YouTube, forums, etc... it's definitely personal preference, but seems keeping race tex clean / fresh over time is more effort than...
Full leather black is what I selected, given longevity for wear, timeless (although a bit boring), and the practicality of having kids in the car. It took me awhile to move away from my first choice of black/chalk two-tone.
I like your plan. I'm also hoping to enjoy my first Porsche and EV for many years.
And yes, I'd definitely ask about the heater - especially given several failures occurring and if you think the heating experience is much different than your loaner.
Track Your Dream was originally scheduled for 5 weeks between Order Freeze and the Start of Production. My Order Freeze was recently extended by a week and also brought my Start of Production in by a week (now a total of 3 weeks between).
In either case, Track Your Dream is defaulting to 5...
Unlucky for sure. And I'd certainly consider an extended warranty, if you're thinking about holding onto the car for a significant period of time (e.g., has your heater failed?).
Generally speaking, it seems EV's should have less issues over the long-term and after the manufacturer's warranty...
Exactly right. That's why I went middle of the road and opted for PSCB's (w/ Mission E wheels). Better brake performance than stock and less brake dust. Will I drive the EV hard enough to warrant their use? Likely not, but think they look great and mentally give me more confidence!
Admittedly still learning a lot about battery technology, voltage, current, etc... but for Taycan storage, the latest Porsche bulletin recommends...
For optimal HV battery health, keep the car plugged in and between 20-50% state of charge. Makes complete sense.
The 12V battery should maintain...
I like the increased focus on larger / carousel pictures throughout the configurator; although, I do miss the collapsable menu approach of the right-hand nav to be able to switch between bigger picture vs detailed options. I have no doubt I'll get used to it over time.
Still as slow as ever...
I've only recently started to see another Taycan driving in my area... and every time it certainly catches my eye. Validating at least 32 others (plus most on this forum) would agree!
Can't wait for my Taycan to catch the eyes of others (later this year hopefully)!
