Completely lost in choosing between sedan and sport turismo + spec

Now that's an interesting segment... "Good news, family! I've ordered us a Porsche limousine!" :CWL: Great choice!

Porsche Dashcam Installed - Review and Overview for US Taycan Owners

Yes, more details please! Installed pics would be great. Did you order the dash cam preparation option? If so, how much effort (and rough cost, if willing to share) for the dealer to install? Apple wireless car play disabled all the time? Or only when you attempt to access dash cam footage...

Out of Spec Motoring - Taycan Roadtripping on the Autobahn

I enjoy these long videos… particularly when they’re just playing in the background while I’m multitasking. Taycan has great route planning and battery preconditioning when the destination is a charging station. Battery management system (BMS) and thermal management appears to be among the...

Porsche Dashcam Installed - Review and Overview for US Taycan Owners

Definitely interested in your installation experience. I think the location is just fine. While not as sleek as FitcamX or BlackVue, it’s not bad at all… and I’d like to take advantage of the pre-wired configuration option. Someone on Rennlist recently confirmed the additional wiring harness...

Completely lost in choosing between sedan and sport turismo + spec

Similar situation… two teenagers who are on the taller side. Initially struggled with moving away from the practicality of two larger vehicles at home… but after talking with my wife, she didn’t hesitate to support my sports sedan desire. Go for the sedan… figure out the rest later. That’s my...

    Dealerships and initial contacts

Great updates. Thanks for sharing your experience! This will also be my first Porsche. I initially walked into my local dealership to learn more about the Taycan and general Porsche car buying process (allocation; order to spec; etc.)... an SA greeted me; said they were likely not to get any...

    Price cuts?

I don't see any incentive for Porsche to decrease their prices at this point... especially considering existing demand (as mentioned). Tesla MY, as an example, is in a different market segment and business context with price reductions for different reasons (US tax incentives; competitive...

    Heater issues anyone?

Waiting out the first model year, then for an allocation, and now the build/delivery process… I was hoping I’d get lucky and MY23 wouldn’t have an issue as significant (and prolonged?) as the heater failing, particularly living in a cold weather region. For those impacted (sorry!), please keep...

Google, Porsche in talks over Google Apps access🤓

I'm personally more interested in deeper Apple integration... but am generally supportive of Porsche limiting the need to build their own software and leaning on Apple, Google, Amazon, etc. to provide a better overall experience design within their PCM.

    Consolidated Taycan Delivery Tracking Spreadsheet

Congratulations on the delivery! Volcano Grey Metallic was definitely on my short list... and also went with the Mission E wheels. Looking at your timeline... the main delay was Emden... was it the 12v battery issue? or something else?

    CHALK Taycan Club

Congrats on the new car! Great to hear someone else immediately having their car transported to/from the detailer prior to taking formal delivery back at the dealer. I'm planning to do the same. I like the idea of making the car pristine/protected and eliminating any chance of rock chips prior...

What would a battery swap cost?

Yeah, seemed like they were opening up the battery module to bypass the existing Battery Management System (BMS) firmware. I think they they soldered a new board with new firmware (in Part 2). There's reference to a 3-part series in the comments... hopefully we'll find out the use case...

What would a battery swap cost?

Completely agree. That's starting to take shape with 3rd party Tesla repair shops - e.g., Gruber Motors and Electrified Garage immediately come to mind for battery repairs less than a full battery swap. Or maybe there will be a DIY option... I was just researching this on YouTube earlier today...

Be honest, how many of you have shredded your bumper on a speed bump or incline?

Ouch! I do love how wide the Taycan sits... seems like it may take some getting used to?

Be honest, how many of you have shredded your bumper on a speed bump or incline?

Soon-to-be first-time Porsche owner as well... and thinking the same. As someone who will like enjoy riding in "low" as much as possible, I've familiarized myself with where I intend to use location-based smart lift and bookmarked sun coast bumper replacement parts. :) Sounds like the bumper...

    You ever get that feeling....

I agree that tech will continue to advance so quickly that our Taycan will seem like relics in just several short years. I’m not convinced they’ll be obsolete. If we’re comparing our cars to computers, maybe thinking of them as obsolete applies. I tend to think of these cars as the like first...

Porsche Take Note: Mercedes has realized fast charging is part of ownership experience

It is fascinating to me how seemingly poor the interoperability is between VW Group EV's and Electrify America (EA) charging. The Taycan fortunately now has Plug & Charge (although the "handshake" time still could be improved), which is an expected feature in an EV ownership experience; yet...

Winter Wheels installed - Vossen HF4T + Pirelli Winter Scorpion tires. 20x11R 20x9F

Very nice winter setup! I went with all-seasons to start with on my order... but will likely transition to the summer & winter tire/wheel setup once I get through the all-seasons. I like how you described looking forward to the change throughout the year in a separate post.

Interesting info on the potential Audi RS6 EV

You're right on Taycan performance efficiency. From what I've read, in real world range testing (e.g., 70mph highway test), the Taycan is just as efficient as others (e.g., max ~270-280 miles). It seems like one of the only things left to do with current model is release just a bit more of the...

Interesting info on the potential Audi RS6 EV

Certainly a reasonable plan. If it were to follow a similar release path of the 991.1, 991.2 and 992... it'd be more like 9J1.1 ('19-'23), 9J1.2 ('24-'26) and 9XX on PPE in '27? Fun to speculate!
