I know this is very nitpicking, pedantic even, but the amount of folks getting this wrong is ridiculous.
There is no such thing as a "J2" Taycan.
This will be reserved for the next generational leap in a few years.
The current facelift Taycan is J1 II or J1.2.
It's the same platform as the...
What's interesting is that in the press releases for the J1 GTS, Porsche quoted a 0-60 time of 3.5s with launch control. Real world tests also confirmed it. Now with the launch of the J1.2 facelift with a 0-60 time of 3.3s, it's only a difference of 0.2s.
Makes the J1 GTS looks like a bit of a...
Not to be pedantic, but it's not "Gen 2", it's the same platform, just face lifted, making it Gen 1.2.
Sounds like a silly thing to correct, but it's going to get confusing when the actual Taycan Gen 2 arrives in a few years!
Excellent write up, by the way. I'll probably avoid sharing with my...
My wife uses it all the time to re-route us if we get stuck in traffic, for example. She also loves being in control of the music...maybe that's a negative? :D
Aesthetically speaking, the Taycan's dash looks unfinished without it. Just having a blank panel looks lame. Porsche should have come up...
If the batteries / coolant lines all check out fine, could you take it to a body shop and get the dents pulled out, like you would with any other panel?
Your best bet would be to look on eBay / Suncoast / Design911 or a local breaker's yard.
Buy the parts you want, and then sell your old parts on eBay to recoup some costs.
A bit condescending?
With all due respect, in addition to research online, it was confirmed by both a Porsche sales guy, and a Porsche tech on two separate occasions and different dealerships. However, your opinion has been noted and duly taken with a pinch of salt.
It's not nonsense. Things might be different from America, but this is what I was told directly from two different Porsche dealerships here in the UK.
Otherwise, I would also be on 21" PS4S, as Pirelli's just don't last.
We had to replace our two front tyres at around 7000 miles!
Pirelli P Zero's are known to be quite soft compared to Michelin.etc The problem we had is that Michelin don't do NF0 in 21", not an issue if you're on 20".
We only replaced the tyres as we are about to hit winter and didn't want to...
Given the current climate (for the UK at least), I think the 2025 Taycan's depreciation curve will be pretty similar.
There's a lot of misinformation regarding EV's, peddled by tabloid sh*trags / social media, which is starting to take its toll with a bit of EV backlash. We still have a cost of...
