UK Cybertruck is as desirable-looking as the Tesla one but is actually useful

Panel gaps look to be on par with the Cybertruck.

Phone holders for the Taycan - what are you using?

It's convenient. There is a wireless charger in the centre console, but it's incredibly awkward. If you use CarPlay / Android Auto, then it'll use your phones' battery. It's nice just to throw it onto a MagSafe charger so you don't have to worry. Aesthetically, the MagSafe chargers that use the...

    Heating Failure

Small update: had a call on the 29th Dec saying our Taycan has been fixed and ready for collection (even though I specified delivery ??‍♂️). Factoring in the festive holiday, it took Porsche Leeds 11 working days to fix. Hopefully they can delivery her back to me when they open again tomorrow.

    Cupholder prongs

Not had that issue, but luckily it’s fairly easy to remove the cup holder trim piece to take a look. The prongs themselves slide into a plastic groove, but are only locked into place by two flimsy bits of plastic. If you’re still under warranty, just swing by the dealer, it’s an easy 10 min...

    Heating Failure

Small update. Now that Porsche have my car, they just phoned to say it'll take 10-12 working days. ?‍♂️

    Summer tyres (tires) in Winter

This was told to me directly from Porsche. I agree, if you use a reputable brand with correct ratings it shouldn't make a difference, but personally I wouldn't want to risk my warranty.

    Heating Failure

Fingers crossed! I'll update next week as to if it actually took 5 days or not! I haven't been using the car too much recently, so the heater hasn't had to work too hard. It was just after the cold snap here in the UK, an almost mild (for the season / area) 5°C outside, when I noticed it had...

    Summer tyres (tires) in Winter

Yep, it's incredibly frustrating. 20" fair a little better with options, but with 21" it's only summer tyres. The other problem is that if you don't use NF0 tyres and Porsche trace any issue back to the tyres, you won't be covered by the warranty.

    Heating Failure

Ours has also just failed (MY23, just over a year old). Porsche Assistance have been great. The car will be picked up tomorrow and should be back within 5 days. A little annoying, but not the end of the world. Hopefully we'll get a nice loaner car!

Tesla Cybertruck beats 911 while towing a 911

I thought the stunt was pretty cringe, but did its job from a marketing POV. A lot of controversy using a base 911, but you have to remember it’s probably closest in price to the top end Cybertruck that it was racing. Goddamn it’s fugly, probably takes the crown from the BMW XM!

My Taycan wrapped in speed yellow update

FYI, you mean "mils", not "mm". If PPF was almost 1cm thick (8mm), that would be mental! Apologies, just being pedantic :)

Car Delivered - but plain white instead of CWM

Wait until you see it in person. If isn't Carrara White, you should get at least the price difference (not sure about the USA, but here in the UK it was a paid paint option on the GTS). I would also try and negotiate some kind of compromise (if you do want to keep the car), maybe look at...

    BOSE System Surprised me!

We have the Bose and it’s okay. The main issue I have is that I can adjust the mids. Seems a bit shortsighted.

Which car gets more attention between Taycan and 911?

With the exception of the more “special” models, 911s are pretty ubiquitous on the UK roads.

    UK Taycan Insurance

I also live in a safe area, but only 5 years no claims (not a bad driver, just never needed a car previously :)). I was with Admiral, they quoted £1200 to renew. Got them down to around £1k. After some phoning around I went with eSure for a lot less, £681 (like for like policy inc breakdown cover).

Crest key ring as a substitute for the Porsche Charging Service Card

Luckily, our government has thought about this security flaw and made sure very few chargers support the feature! :giggle:

    Porchse taycan ticking noise

Not sure if you are on air suspension or steel, but it sounds very similar to coil over spring bind.
