How can remotely force my Taycan 4S 2020 to charge the 12V battery?

How far should the key be turned then. I can turn the key 90 degrees but after that it is a stop. I could not turn it any further with my cold hands and did not dare to use any extra aid or tool. I will leave that to the recovery guys so they can pay for it if it all goes belly up!

12V battery: convert to a cheap alternative?

My car is also 6 years old and has had the 12 volt battery replaced at least once before. But still have issues when leaving the car for more than a few weeks. The main battery does not seem to recharge the 12 volt battery as it should. I suspect this is due to the 12 volt battery being a...

How can remotely force my Taycan 4S 2020 to charge the 12V battery?

DISASTER HAS STRUCK Now I can report back that the 12 volt battery has died in my car when it was left for 8 weeks. Whatever update the car received to address this issue clearly does nothing for the 12 volt battery. Came back late last night and tried to open the car by the remote this...

*Newbie alert* 1st time owner, 1 week driving my Taycan Turbo

I have driven from Nice area up to Calais a fair few times in summertime. And then I do charge to 100% at home. Driving on the excellent motorways in France In summer time at around 130 km/h, I have managed about 300 -340 km’s distance at best. My car is the same model and age as yours, I think...

*Newbie alert* 1st time owner, 1 week driving my Taycan Turbo

Lovely car, looks like new! Glad I could help answer some of your questions. Your consumption for very short trips in the winter conditions is to be expected. The Taycan takes a lot of energy to heat battery etc in the beginning. Summer tyres in winter conditions will make the car feel hard...

How can remotely force my Taycan 4S 2020 to charge the 12V battery?

I volunteer as a test case now! I had only planned to leave the car for just 3 weeks at home. But a change of plans has now resulted in the car being left for 9 weeks until we return to our home in January. Since the weather forecast when we left, warned for some severe thunderstorms a few days...

🔋 Baseline for HV Battery SoH Performance (Battery Degradation Data by Taycan Owners)

I have not followed all of the questions raised here, so apologies if I ask something that already has been answered? As I understand it you are unsure if your car has been upgraded to a new BMS or even a new battery that could have J1.2 specs? If this is correct, why not try to send...

PSCB: Slight scraping sound from front left wheel when in motion

Surprised that none of the dealers have offered to take the sensors off one of the cars in stock and fit in your car! Can’t believe that a brand like Porsche can not get a pair of brake sensors delivered in 24 to 48 hours. Really lousy customer service

"Take over steering" message - anyone else get those without ADAS engaged?

I didn’t think it was implemented in J1.1 ? It is an EU rule for sure, but every car review you see on YouTube the tester always turns off these warnings. It might not be possible to do in Porsche, but in other cars it is. I think some implementation requires it to take two steps to do, but most...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

My experience of freezing started prior to the update that was rolled out in the summer ARB7? (the one that was going to protect the battery from bursting into flames). The irony of the first time it happened to me was navigating to a Porsche centre to have the update installed, since my car...

"Take over steering" message - anyone else get those without ADAS engaged?

@chun and @tigerbalm, The incident from OP was that it happens when none of the ADAS systems are active! That is also what I have experienced frequently. There should be no reason for that message to occur at all when just driving the car.

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Agree with you! And most amazing to see information about chargers that are way out of range anyhow. Why? If a route is planned there should be a filter to only show charging stations along the route with an adjusable distance off the planned route of say 5 or 10 km. No need to see a charger 200...

"Take over steering" message - anyone else get those without ADAS engaged?

Yes I have had that many times. For me this has happened from the beginning. It can pop up at any time on all sorts of roads. But I have not had it pop up in city driving! I have asked the service guys at several occasions but had no answer. This is without engaging Innodrive or any other...

Ford vs Porsche and “other drivers”

You should perhaps check your speedometer against a good GPS speed instrument or app, on the phone? I have noted that my car shows a speed that is about 3 miles below the real speed! And that seems to be fairly constant from about 30 mph upwards. Red light race starts have been quite frequent...

    UK service & costs

Seems a fair price! Interesting that they still have the item included to check sun roof drains, even if they did not activate the extra work. That line item is likely an item that has been added by the mothership in the Porsche maintenance system?

PSCB: Slight scraping sound from front left wheel when in motion

Interesting that PCNA recommend tyre rotation? That can not be correct? Haven’t all Taycans got a staggered wheel setup? Secondly checking the spare tyre? Has anybody got such a thing?

EV's vs PHEV's - what makes sense in the next 10 years?

I understood this to be the case for Ford’s F150. And from what I read it still is an EV drive train and more of a range extender? Ford will focus on smaller more forcible EV’s is my interpretation? Interesting with the EV with range extenders though. BMW was head of that with the i3!

Broken heat pump and high maintenance costs 2-year maintenance

Well it is down to each dealer to set prices, since Porsche do not own them. They need to make up for the loss of all service revenue that was associated with ICE cars, especially a Porsche. Oil change, spark plugs, belts etc etc. But I guess the Porsche dealers are quite happy at the moment...

Broken heat pump and high maintenance costs 2-year maintenance

As said above, the labour rates are very high! Wiper blades normally cost about 70 to 80 Euros and fitting them is a few minutes. I am very surprised they did not quote you for all of this beforehand. The 2 year service for the Taycan is basically change of brake fluid, change of cabin filter...

Broken heat pump and high maintenance costs 2-year maintenance

I think they have charged you far too much for the repair and service. I now see that you had the cabin heater replaced WDS8 and that will certainly all be under warranty. You may also have had the aircon gas topped up and for that the charge can be between 80 to 250 Euro depending on...
