Thanks of the insight into this. Useful information for buyers.
This is something that most people would miss.
I‘m assuming that when the dealership says ‘This has a 2 year warranty’ - we all just automatically assume its 2 years from then rather than some previous ‘unknown date’.
The new Michelin Cross Climate 3 Sport variant is looking to (slightly) upset this balance.
On a track and at the edge of performance driving - I fully agree that a summer will always be the best - but for normal (spirited) road driving, this new Michelin is proving to be quite a good tyre in...
You may have to do both. I have travelled to France/Switzerland 3 times in the Taycan. On some charging points, the Porsche card works fine, but in most places, I had to scan the QR code in the app.
Best be prepared for both… I spent a lot of time (wasted) in trying to get the card to work...
@prj can provide a more accurate & technical answer, but my guess is the answer is No.
The battery capacity/ management is controlled by the BMS module and not by the ASG module.
I agree with you…
I never stated that “Porsche did not state the instructions clearly”…. All I am saying is that the software update design is not great.
How many other machines or cars (in our everyday use) get bricked if we do not follow software update instructions? How many Teslas have...
… but in such cases, both iPhones/ Windows machines (or almost any OS) still boots up at the end of it.
Yes, you may lose your unsaved work … or corrupt some files, etc…. But the IPhone or Windows machine is not rendered unusable. Even if th update fails, the machines still start in boot safe...
Pressing on the emblem/badge to close the frunk has been a long established way of closing the frunk....
I doubt you will find any forum post or any news item where a Taycan user damaged their bonnet because of this...
I understand that you are playing it safe - and if charging just to 80% suits your travel planning, then all good.
Unfortunately, not charging to 100% does not suit my travel, so I charge as per advise from Porsche tech. If this ever becomes a warranty issue, then Porsche will also have to...
I really dont understand who are these ‘software developers’ that Porsche employ?
How can a business be so good in mechanical, electro-mechanical and mission critical computational stuff (I mean ECU, ABS, PASM, brakes, PTV, etc…) and yet be so poor in consumer interface software ?
@chun
Are you suggesting that J1.1 cars (with this latest PCM update) will get the additional functionality of Apple maps directions in dashboard or is this feature only available on J1.2?
@ct14garage : Could you please comment on this?
Thanks.
Another fix that has worked for some ...
Underlying Problem: Car embedded SIM has good signal but data connectivity not working.
Symptoms: My Porsche App cannot connect to car, In car apps like Apple Music, Weather, etc.. do not work.
This is usually the case when you see a symbol on the PCM...
You don't have to charge only to 80%.... If you are driving the car for long distances, then charging the car to 100% and then driving it straight after (rather that it sitting in a garage) should not be a big issue.
I have the ARB6 listing on my car as well, but I have been getting it checked...
