Using the Taycan battery to supply power to household items?

V2G (Vehicle to Grid) charging is not available on the Taycan at the moment. J1 definitely does not have the hardware needed to support this. There is a small chance that the hardware exists in the latest 2025 manufactured Macan EVs - but someone needs to dig out the electronics diagrams to be...

Part 3: The Quest for the Perfect Tune

I think the regen on the stock Taycan works a treat (and thankfully is not like a Tesla). The brake blend-in is likely the best that is out there…. Ain’t broke… don’t fix. Others may have a different opinion about regen; and it is good to know that it’s `technically` configurable…. Thanks...

I just scraped the side of my car on a steel post

Thanks… Steer High Wycombe is probably closest to you but I guess you can probably do Steer Farnham as well. I have used Steer Farnham, and they did an excellent job. I had checked with both Porsche Reading and Porsche Guildford and they both use Steer Farnham as their body shop - so I just...

I just scraped the side of my car on a steel post

Where are you based? Steer Prestige Group is a preferred partner with most insurances. Porsche Reading & Porsche Guildford use Steer Prestige Farnham for any work that comes into them directly - but usually the quote is cheaper if the Insurance suggests Steer directly; rather than Porsche...

I just scraped the side of my car on a steel post

AFAIK, this is likely true for most ‘reputed repairers’ as well, even if done without insurance. Most reputed repair shops are updating national databases with repair histories as code of practice.

    Part 2: The J1 Powertrain

What a breath of fresh air…. (with the above statement). It’s been a while we have had an honest, open, plain talking & transparent tuning person/ solution …. And I don't mean just Porsche and this forum, I mean across many manufacturers. The world of tuning (across various car manufacturers)...

I too thought so... ... but the one thing I have learnt over time. Assumptions are the mother of all F**$-ups.... so always ask an expert. Thanks for the quick response & assurance.. ?

    Part 2: The J1 Powertrain

A quick question: Does changing the ASG in anyway change any parameter coding done on other modules? For.. eg. I have changed a few parameters in BCM1, BCM2, ZFAS, ESP for some simple changes. For instance, Enable Rear lights as DayLight Running Lights, Increasing Indicator/Blinker count to...

    Part 1: MapEV Diag

Another feedback: It may be useful to add an option to `Save the ASG data` to a file and an option to upload it later. There will be cases where the car location is such that the laptop does not have wi-fi access, so although the data can be successfully read from the car, it cannot be...

    Part 1: MapEV Diag

Would it be possible to read the SoH value and display it at part of the Scan results? It is a useful parameter; and if it is an easy option to code - it would be much appreciated.

    Anyone with PIWIS?

By road types, I mean road classification. e.g. like Highways, Motorways, A roads, B roads (as in the UK). I may be wrong but it appears that HBA only activates on certain road types (e.g. highways, motorways and medium/high speed roads). I have noticed that It never seems to activate on some...

Thank you for the transparent and open response. ? As rightly stated by you, the tuning scene (across most car makes) has gotten poor and credibility has been lost over the years. Great to see an honest broker and an open discussion. Look forward to this…
