Not defending Porsche here.... but
I don't think the German manufacturers ever promised anything.
The 'premium' is a market perception (aka reputation) that was built over the years because German manufacturing (and not just for cars) was so much better than others.
I do not recall any...
The screenshot of the DVSA letter that I posted in the link is not from the DVSA website.
It is from a DVSA formal/ written letter to the Transport Secretary department (in response to a question from the Transport Secretary)
I would hope that it is accurate... else a few heads will roll.
I have just sent you a PM, you may respond to that.
As future reference…
In order to start a PM (with any forum member), you may click on the forum members name, it should open a pop-up screen and you may then click on the button that states ‘Start Conversation’
Many thanks…

@C17r15
Hi,
I finally managed to get a copy of PIWIS 41.5 and a VAS6154 clone and managed to connect to the car. Was able to code a few values as well both in BCM1 and BCM2.
Many thanks for your guidance. ...
The area of concern is not the number of faults found vs total cars sold. The real issue is that it is a design flaw and should have been sorted during the design of the part itself.
A design flaw is a far bigger problem than a simple part failure (every part will always a certain failure rate...
Likely a correct assumption !
Even for the HV Battery recall, I did not get a call after receiving the letter from Porsche.
Had to call up myself as a month had passed and no contact and get a booking and the job has been done.
I made a fuss with the dealership.... and lo & behold - this time...
@Vrm001
Would you mind sending the Financial Ombudsman letter (findings) that states their position via PM?
You may redact your name/ address/ personal details as appropriate.
Many Thanks.
Update:
- Received the ARB0 brake hose recall notification
- called up dealership
- Car booked for 2nd week August
Dealer stated it is a 1 day job, so car will be returned same day.

I am not quite sure about this assessment about Lucid's leader.
Lucid Air main design lead (and CEO/CTO) is Peter Rawlinson.
Peter established himself in the British automotive industry with Jaguar and then with Lotus and then Corus. He then moved to Tesla as the chief vehicle engineer for...
Yes, got my car back today morning. All well, HV fixes done.
I have not received the complete work report yet, as the technician was not available in the morning. I expect to get that in the post in next few days.
I had initially asked for a detailed battery health test, but that would have...
Update: 12 July
- Got my car back (HV battery fix done)
- No real update on brake hose issue. All dealer said is that letters will be sent out by Porsche GB in the post for brake hose pipes replacement over the course of the next few months. Will be handled like any normal recall; except this...
Yes, got an email today morning from the dealership.
HV Battery fix has been completed. ?
Car is now on a charge and will then put for a diagnostic read.
I think I will get to pick it up in a day or so.
Regarding Brake Hose pipe, issue... see updates on the other thread.
Had another discussion with Porsche dealership today regarding the brake hose recall.
1) Dealer conformed that all Taycan will be recalled. Just 365 cars are affected only, do not worry - all that nonsense gone. Now accepting that all Taycans manufactured until May 2024 will be fixed.
2) No...
Yes, Porsche is not covering itself in glory with the management of Taycan issues.
It is not that other manufacturers are doing great… I think we have all seen a general decline in ‘customer services’ across the globe - and not just for cars but across all customer service related industries.
